I don’t have enough time to do a proper writeup here because my nine year old grandson flew in to spend two weeks with Grandma and Grandpa and Grandma is already giving me what for for spending too much time on WIS instead of doing things with him. So that being said I am going to dive into Ridley’s Believe It or not.
We all went to the Rangers Rays baseball game this afternoon and guess who was pitching for the Rays. None other than my Bonus Round pick From the Indians Corey Kluber. If he only pitches for me as well as he did this afternoon, I will be in the playoff hunt.
My overriding policy this draft was to pick the best player available to me no matter the cost or what team he played for or whether he was a position player or a pitcher. That is why I took Helton first even though Colorado had many choices as did first base.
This philosophy carried me well until my 24th pick. I picked the better ranked pitcher in Andrew Chaffin from the Cubs with his stellar 39 innings rather than the cheaper Greg Swindel from the Diamondbacks. I was going to be gone all day Memorial Day to the Ft Worth Stockyards and I wanted to finish up my draft before I went. If I had waited on that last pick I would have jumped rmarksduke and Johan Santana would have been mine. I can only hope that the Deja vu of seeing Kluber pitch in person today is a good sign.

You can tell I am hitting heavy. Primarily out of my first ten draft picks two were SP and eight were position players.
