BTW - the setup with 20 teams has interleague play. I couldn't see a way to get rid of it.

A little light on defense, and losing Appling hurt, but the Phillies as an anti-dagger depth pick really helped. I drafted my team from my last three team picks and then was able to fill in the remaining 7 spots from my first selection almost perfectly thanks to how many said moving pieces the Phillies had. Would've liked one more glove and maybe a little more offensive firepower, but feel this team is solid and I'm not wasting any IP or PA and have a team well-suited for their ballpark. Not sure if they can compete with some of the big guns, but should finish over .500.

This was one of the most challenging puzzles to put together. Took probably a dozen and a half iterations before I had a combo I was happy with. Even still, it's a little star heavy on both sides of the ball. Plus side, this team has a great balance of hitting, pitching, and defense. Should be a strong contender even if the stars don't live up to their salaries.

I really am not sure how this team will turn out it could win division or lose 100 games or somewhere in between. Starting Rotation should be the strength With Newcombe and Montefusco. The Bullpen is full of No Name pitchers that are Just Ok. As for the Offence the biggest name are Toby Harrah and George Scott had too leave the Big Brooklyn hitters at Home.

We were forced to go with a strong hitting team. Our pitching will try to keep the ball in the park with low HR numbers in a low HR park. We will hit tons of doubles. All in all I like my roster. Should be some very high scoring games.

If Mathews and Aaron only had some hitters in front of them.

Add Joe Morgan and Roberto Clemente.

The loss of Stargell, my 2nd-best OPS bat, did hurt some as the dropoff to Dropo was pretty big. On the flip side, I was able to improve in the OF from Dusty Baker to Richie Zisk, so it might be close to a net wash. In the big picture though, it's just not an inspiring offense. Fox and Sanguillen are the best average guys and will need to set the table for Parker, Zisk, Estalella, Dropo, and Evans. The shortstops won't contribute much on offense or defense, as they're pretty much disasters. All in all, it's a lineup with a moderate amount of pop, very little speed, good ability to draw walks, and very little to inspire visions of greatness. And there are some duds on the defense as well.

On the bright side, I was able to roster as good a pitching staff as possible, headed by a solid Billy Pierce but then a significant falloff to Reuss, Flores, and Donovan. I'll have to figure out the best way to maximize the ~130 innings I can get from Candelaria, likely just making spot starts and hopefully winning a lot of them. The bullpen is anchored by two big-inning arms in Consuegra (133 IP) and Berry (141 IP), with rookie Kent Tekulve thrown in there but with just 57 innings (odd since he's best remembered for his rubber arm and appearing in 85+ games a season).

It's so hard to make predictions since we are all still hampered by the $80M cap. I'd be happy to win 86-88 games with this squad and have a shot at the playoffs, but I don't foresee being one of the top teams in the league either.

And the daggering was well-designed against him, too. Just managed to figure it all out anyway somehow.
