Question: Did you offer Forbes a "no trade clause"? Did the team that signed him? That seemed to be a deciding factor when I maxed out a player contract recently.

You dodged a bullet.. My guess is it has to do with cost of living being less expensive in Boise.. Could be that Forbes needed to get away from the weather and casinos in LV.. All of these are obvious reason why a baseball players would take less $$ from another team..

^^^ Was going to say I bet you don't mind not having that max contract on your books now. Handing out a max contract for a player with 48 health is extremely risky.
