It seems many of my teams are stuck in Divisons of Death, so I'm going to avoid the obvious pick here and instead take..

1984 Montreal Expos

Pete Rose and Tim Raines will be fun to play.

What was that about division of death? I can't find a team I like a lot more than the others, unfortunately. Let's go with:

2017 Nationals

I'll complete the divison:

2019 Nationals

Now I feel doubly terrible about this pick.

Dagnabbit, I wanted the 1990 Royals. Oh well, this team should be similar...

Sorry for the delay. There were a few other teams I was looking at but I couldn't quite get a bullpen together

1982 Royals

1995 Expos

Sorry for the delay. I’ve been agonizing over a couple of teams that both have their strengths and weaknesses. In the end I will go with my heart.
My first ever live baseball games were in the summer of 1981. I was a 10 year old prairie boy who only got the Expos games on English and French CBC. And then we visited my uncle in Ottawa that summer and he took me to a couple of games down at the Big O. That was my first ever live sporting experience. I remember watching Tim Raines and Andre Dawson complete a double steal and I was so excited I caught it on my disposal camera at the time. Of course, when the film was developed later all the players looked like ants but the double steal action was there if you squinted enough.
Then in the fall my super strict old school Grade 4 teacher turned out to be a baseball fan herself. She actually let the whole class listen to the playoffs on the radio. I remember there were kids crying after the Blue Monday loss to the Dodgers.
I was, and remained , a huge Expos fan even though we eventually got CTV and the Blue Jays games a few years later and I eventually came down to Ontario for university and stayed there ever since becoming a diehard Jays fan as well.

Long story short - give me those 81 Expos from my childhood memories.

2004 KC Royals

schwarze needs a team with some of his favorite players in his division, which doesn't bode well for my advancement.

This was one of the first Royals teams I built. I thought they'd get picked a lot earlier. Jose Bautista, Carlos Beltran, Juan Gonzalez and Mike Sweeney should provide pretty strong run scoring. And with Zack Greinke and Kevin Appier, they have a top 3 rotation. Apparently everybody that passed on this team saw the bullpen.
