Selling ***** is a crime.   Until it isn't, it's a law that should be enforced.

It's like saying "Yeah, I was drunk as **** but I wasn't swerving.  DUI MY ***!!!"

Tighter controls on drinking and driving has made a big dent in drunk driving. Can the same be said for laws against prostitution?

We have a lot of police resources tied up giving out misdemeanor tickets. It is just a cycle and the women are getting the short end of the deal.

Have tighter controls been tried with prostitution?    I don't think so.   You keep screaming "MISDEMEANOR" so I think you know that they haven't.    And you keep saying "a lot of police resources" like you have some statistics.  I'm not sure you do.

So did you just come out in favor of increasing the penalties for women arrested for prostitution?
7/19/2011 12:49 PM
Nope.  I don't want to bother with it.   You seemed to imply that tighter controls on criminal activity makes a bid dent in the crime.    I wa asking a question.   A couple of them.

That is my main point. Police resources are being used for no reason.

If you want to stand up and call for tougher sentencing than we can address that issue, otherwise you can drop it.

When you become chief of police for the nation, you can decide which laws to enforce and how to use police resources.

I happen to think speed traps are a huge waste of resources.   37 in 25?  Who the **** cares?  But guess what?  I don't get to make that call.

The only thing to drop is the call for legalizing prostitution.    That's the subject matter we're discussing.

Speed traps turn a profit, as I am sure you know. Going 12 over in a 25 zone seems dangerous for the kids.

Hooker stings loose money. They do not reduce prostitution.

Speed traps cost money to operate.     And, if there's a kid playing on the interstate, he probably needs to be killed.  Just so he can't breed later.

I think my personal favorite law enforcement technique is when they have DUI checkpoints.

But announce ahead of time where and when they will be.

Speed traps make money. They have a very low overhead and a huge payoff.

And if he was doing 37 in a 25 he wasnt on the Interstate. He was probably in a residential area.

Hehehe.  You're funny.  Let's just pretend I buy your entire "point".   Do you agree that legalizing prostitution would jump to the forefront of the political scene and maybe, just maybe, detract away from solving what most of us consider more pressing issues?

Weird to see you making the same argument Obama did for not going to war with the GOP over DADT and gay marriage.
7/23/2011 9:23 AM
Shouldn't be that weird.   I look at a subject and form an opinion.   I lean conservative but I don't give two ***** about gay marriage or abortion.   I think you know this.
7/23/2011 9:31 AM
Yeah, it's just an argument in abstract. I get that. I just find it weird that you hold Obama in such contempt, yet think the way he does. It's an odd mix.

I've never said the man is a complete incompetent.  Quite the opposite.  He's just not presidential material.
