Maybe I need to clarify that the auto nominees do not count against your limit of two.

You shouldn't have to but it seems that people are really getting caught up in auto-noms and nom requirements.

I agree that the 10 GGs is a good barometer for auto-nom. I don't think it'd be necessary to lower that.

Patrick,

In the event that an owner neglects to submit a ballot, will the sim vote in their place, sort of like is done for MVP, Cy Young, and Rookie of the Year?

If so, perhaps there can be an "empty ballot" button, should an owner decide that no one on that season's ballot is Hall-worthy, which will allow their participation to still be recognized even if they don't vote for anyone. This would prevent the sim from voting for players who the owner doesn't think are deserving.

In Clemente,
Brent Fisher has 10 gold gloves in CF, but he's the only one I've ever seen get that many. Clearly, Fisher is HoF material. But hypothetically, if he weren't much of a hitter, I don't think 7 gold gloves or so should really qualify him to be on the ballot. If the minimum for GG's should be lowered, it shouldn't be lowered much.

You could always just vote for a player someone nominated that you know will not get in if you didn't feel as if 1 of the top guys deserved to be in. But, I am under the impression that if you don't vote, it doesn't auto vote for you. In the case of owners MIA I feel as if it should.

Uh, are you touting your player while saying "I've only had 1 winning season ever!!!!"?

I wouldn't do that. People will mock you..

Mock you inability to post more than 1 winning season out of 13.

You know the answer to your question. He didn't pitch enough innings to qualify for the HOF. Anyway, despite the hard to read post, I think your guy has a career 1.29 WHIP and 4.17 ERA. That's not HOF material even if he threw 200 innings a year.
