I think you missed the point.

The issue isn't whether or not we can trade draft picks. That would just lead to a bunch of n00bs getting trade raped. The point is that a mid 1st rounder is worth more than a boatload of comp picks, which feels a bit off.

My "1st rounders" included several comp. picks.

If you know what you're doing, you should be able to get useful players into the 4th round.

I will feely admit that HJ was not my best drafting team (I'd often only rank until my first pick), but it's the only one that has a long enough track record to be useful.

Here goes... Fisk World - entering season 13. I'll also cover the first 8 seasons.

1st Round: 16 drafted, 16 pros; 4523 IP (11 Pitchers), 10930 AB (5 Players).
2nd Round: 11 / 8; 70IP (1), 9476AB (7).
3rd Round: 8 / 5; 323IP (2), 1681AB (3).
4th Round: 7 / 2; 503IP (2).
5th Round: 6 / 3; 997AB (3).
6th Round: 6 / 2; 380AB (2).
7th Round: 7 / 1; 164AB (1).
8th Round: 6 / 1; 164IP (1).

Season 9 update:
4th round pick got in 8 games in S13.
9th round pick got 27 AB in S14.

Not much happened in my S9 draft.

that's very true and it's a great point

I took a look at my MG draft history and my conclusion is that I suck at the draft. Exactly 1 player in the history of the world drafted by me after the 3rd round has seen ML time, although there is hope for a second one in the future.



Now I'm motivated to give up draft picks for type A FA's

Hell, there are only 3 players on my current BL roster that I drafted myself.
