Sometimes you gotta realize a bad idea and avoid it. Control of 18 could improve, but not enough to be an effective ML pitcher
I'm trying to see how dating someone who became a Playboy model can be considered a 'bad idea' in the long run...

I had to read the original post several times to figure out where the bad idea was. Still can't.

I think the concern is that with his low control the Playboy super models will lose intrest fast. But so far he's my best rookie pitcher.

I'm in the same league, and out of curiosity I looked this player up. I've got a $16 mil advanced scouting budget, so higher than stmachi's. My projections suggest 30 CTL and generally about 2-4 points lower on every relevant category (sorry stmachi!).

My question for veteran players is: does a lower scouting budget usually tend to inflate a player's potential, or are you just as likely to get projections that are too low? Thanks...

The best you can hope for is a Trent Maddux (Kaline world), ten season of inning eating with a 1 to 1 walk to strikeout ratio and a .200 batting average against. The consummate mop-up man.
