Beat Navy in a close one 46-48 (buzzer-beater three by Navy, had a 5-point lead with 8 seconds to go, but still close) after erasing a 12-point halftime deficit.

The good news:

Receiving votes at DI for the first time... and 1013 is my birthday, October 13th!

The bad news:
With three off days in my next six games, I'll be gone from that screen for the rest of the season.

Finished 10-0 to earn a 14-2 record in-conference, 22-4 overall. My RPI is 24, so I'm playing for seeding now.

The other division has teams of 58, 87, and 86 (mainou finished non-con as a top-10 RPI school, then went 8-8 in-conf,) so I expect to see multiple Patriot teams in the postseason.

Still thinking about jumping, though - depends on what's open.

Sad about Mainou, I needed him to have a good conf season to help my SOS. Where are you off to?? Any open power 6 job or got a specific destination in mind?

Any open power 6 job that I like... I might stay, I might leave, I'm not sure.

Current rank: #26. Damn.

Folse commits 5 TOs and shoots 1-10, all from beyond the arc... so we lose by four in the CT final. Damn.

RPI is around 25, SOS around 100, rank around 30. My guess is that we'll be a 7 or 8 seed - favored slightly in game one, heavy underdog in the next if we win.

#8 seed in the East Regional, which means that I have national powerhouse Texas waiting in the second round. But first, I'd have to get past the #9 seed, PAC 10 division winner Oregon. I'm favored by 3 points, but I should be a clear underdog:

My goals is to exploit the clear mismatch at the SF while hoping that Oregon can't exploit the mismatches EVERYWHERE ELSE.

On the bright side, reinsel's Wichita State team is in my 8-team section of the bracket. But that would mean beating Oregon... and then getting a win against Texas, whose average rating of 813 is more than 50 points above my highest-rated player. Who, by the way, is Johnny Weir - when did that happen?

Well, let's just hope that a combination of luck and game plan gets me my first win in the DI NT.

Got my *** kicked in a low-scoring game. On the bright side, Vermont is now #317/324 all-time among DI schools as compared to #323 when I got here.

Jobs period should be interesting - I was hoping for a win in the NT, but my resume should be pretty strong. Maybe I'll move.

OK, it's job time. I'm not qualified for Georgia, keep looking for Rice, and longshot for Georgetown.

The rest? "Step backwards." That means that Oklahoma State, a Big 12 (top-5 conference) school with a baseline of B, is available. I might seriously take that.

Advantages: strong baseline, out of the range of the Ivy and ACC while being a bit too southern for the Big Ten, conference would get me plenty of recruiting money, recruiting competition with reinsel, likeable team.

Disadvantages: conference doormat that I'd have to build up, not a Big 10 job (my eventual target, I think,) I'd be back to rebuilding a program.

I'm gonna think... maybe wait a day or so, too.

corn - interesting to hear that you'd take a B baseline team over an A- baseline team. Most of the same advantages apply to Boston College as well, and the Eagles are in a much more recruit dense area than Oklahoma State. Just something to think about, you'd be an excellent addition to any conference you join.

That BC job is intriguing. Tough conference, but tons of money and a great spot as the big east isn't that strong, and the Ivy will never be able to compete prestige wise if you could just win some games there.

But seriously, Come join the dark side in the MVC. Bradley is a good job, you can turn it around this year with smart coaching, recruit well and be in good shape fast.

Our conf prestige is on the rise, we'd be up to 9 humans, and if you don't want to take Pittsburgh, there isn't that much a of a difference between the B level schools in the Pac10/B12/Big East and the C level in the MVC. At least here we all are equal.

Bradley is a good job? Who said THAT?

I'm leaning this way for now, reinsel, but I could always change my mind after a few seasons.

I'll definitely hit you up for that non-con game, starting in Stillwater, home-and-home in the #1 forever.

No problem man. Good luck in the Big 12. Perhaps I should clarify. Bradley has a class structure (10 seniors) that would allow a good coach such as yourself to win enough games to get to a D+ prestige at the end of year one, then recruit with 10 openings and around $100,000 and a D+. That would be enough to get you into the NT in 4 years for sure, which is pretty good for a D level team.

And it is my honest opinion that it will be harder to get OSU into the NT than Bradley, since you are going to lose to Texas/A&M/Oklahoma/Kansas etc each of your first 4 years and it is tough to make the NT when you have 7 losses on your schedule every year until you can recruit at least with a C+.

reinsel, you may have a point. I had Arizona State in another world. Arizona, Northern Arizona (had a big head start) and the California school, put me in a no win situation. I ended up dropping the team after 5 not so great seasons.

That said, good luck, corn.
