In Rupp this past season the overall ratings of the #151-200 was 514. The season before it was 532. SF were down from 522 to 496. And when you looked at the beginning recruits the sim D1 targeted they were about 30 spots above the previous season. Which subsequently raised the bar for D2 teams. In Allen it was converse with the overall player ratings up over 10 points. The #151-200 SF was up to 528 vs 506 the previous season. It also was the lowest ranked block of SF I've seen in 8-10 seasons targeted by the D1 sims; with a #160 SF being the best a D2 could hope for. I know I signed a #133 SF the season before.
interesting, i knew there was a significant random fluctuation from season to season, but didn't know it would be so severe, especially in the overall ranking measure.
i still feel, despite all the randomization, there has been a trend to allow d2 school less access to d1 players. i can't suggest if it was a couple changes, or a steady progression, because of the randomization. i just know i used to be able to sign better guys. and when i started, i routinely watched rails at w chester, and i am pretty sure he could sign 2 star freshman. i know they were 2 stars, not 100% sure they were freshman, but that is a pretty big detail to overlook... so i am fairly confident they were.
