MLB.COM I just copy/paste and let Excel do the math.

Trending downward. One might say it's due to the removal 'roids.

i might agree. thanks for those numbers. there really is a glaring difference in the number of doubles between these hbd worlds and mlb

FYI: This is a recent ticket response I got to an inquiry regarding the past season performance of a few players from one of my worlds.

Thanks for the note. We don't need to look at those players. We have concluded our own review. HR totals have dipped below what our target was. An adjustment is needed to bring it back up a bit. This will go out with our next update.

Squeaky wheel. As anyone can see, homers are in line with MLB. As is everything except doubles. If they really wanted to "fix" anything, they'd screw around with the doubles part of the engine. But chicks, and HBD owners, dig the long ball.

Mike, homers may be in line with MLB currently, but owner usage is not.

Those "in line" HR are a product of Worlds where there is fatigued pitching, where there are DH playing C, where owners still sacrifice the above average D for the poor D above average bat the majority of the time. If MLB managers did the same thing, HR would be higher there too.

That said, personally, I'm not a huge fan of the HR and generally (over)focus on D, so I just hope the attempt to bring HR back up "a bit" isn't another overcorrection that Admin re-examines for the next next update.

I like it.

zbrent, I fully understand what you're saying. But, under the current engine with the current "strategies", homers are in line with MLB. When WifS tweaks the power engine again, you'll see more DH at C, 1B in LF and LF in RF because it will be worth it.

I don't like it... I put a team together that has pretty much dominated the last 2 seasons and it NOT based on those 99power guys with no contact or anything else.. Mine is based on speed, contact and batting eye.. Won over 100+ games and went to the WS last season.. I'm not even above .500 with about 60 games in.. I've done very little to the team that would effect it that much.. But looking at what you've put up here the HR totals are going down..

Season 10 wasn't much different than season 9. Sometimes you have an off year. It happens.

It happens. FWIW, your team built on "contact" has two guys with 80+ contact ratings. So I'd say you've built a chair with two legs. It's gonna be a little wobbly sometimes.
1/18/2010 6:23 AM
I see your point however I tend to think 70+ contact is pretty good when some of the guys have 100 speed. But my point was it's not built on power. I guess having such a bad season just could be coincidence .. Nobody likes to lose lol

Anybody could randomly add worlds to get whatever results they wanted. This information is useless.
