here we have vague and general claims, insistence that a game should run "correctly" which reminds me a lot of how rankings should be done "correctly" - in that case based on a vision of SOS based on total ratings points, which seemed odd to a lot of folks

I will say this, sometimes things sound great when they first come out, but after you think about it for a bit, you start thinking what's the point? The reality is, WIS would never use my OTR SOS rankings, they wouldn't pay for them, hell they didn't even pay to use a 3rd party RNG, and it was wildly unpopular to the handful of people that advocated against it...thus I thought to myself after the apathy of others was clear is it really worth me doing hours of work not getting paid to prove a concept to people who don't like me and would never give me my just due on these rankings anyway? The answer I came to is NO. If I can get the scores and other info zipped, I'll do it in a heartbeat.

And the worst part for me here is that you guys don't think any different of me? *tear*

I'm giving you guys all you ever wanted in the first place, the W, so I don't get all the griping.

- You've latched onto this "extreme randomness" idea without really knowing what that means. Please, don't insult my intelligence.

- This is a simulation of a real life game that does include quite a bit of variance in results from game to game. Why does everything come out like an excuse for something that does/might go wrong? You guys seem to use the Chaminade and Villanova examples like you did the "its only 1 game" mantra in the NBA sim. As long as you think that nothing's wrong and don't consider that something might be wrong, these excuses will always be good enough for you and your staff....but not for the masses that pay your salary.

Its been like 2-3 years since I did any hardcore programming and with applying for jobs I haven't had time to look over it as much. I am pretty sure if he is a decent programmer he could whip something up to pull the info and put into the excel file.

Also, if you show the results of your rankings people might change their mind. You have to show them though before you really start debating, thats where it went wrong. There is still chance but like you said WIS would never buy your rankings
