I don't think even the most attentive worlds will ever induct more than 5 in any given season. And the most attentive worlds aren't going to vote in the non-deserving. MG really only had 2 others that had any support. One was a RP and several of us scoffed at the idea that he was HOFer. And the other guy was Mr. 340.

How do the new owners, or owners in Worlds not that long vote? I mean are they encouraged to vote even though they have not been in there with the HOF players?

The HOF is new to me, as I have been away for a few months taking care of family issues. I am impressed on the recent updates....

Everyone can vote. I'm just not sure they will. You just don't have "feel" for the world when you join. The history, so to speak, isn't there for you. You can look at stats but you don't think "Damn, I remember that bastard beating my *** every time we faced him."

Thanks for the input Mike....I will feel comfortable when I join a World this coming week or so....

Still take into consideration on the ballpark too...I.E. playing at Coor's, What If Sports Field.etc.

Yeah, I think that's something that might get overlooked by a newcomer. He sees 500 homers and says "Oh hell yeah!" You'd have to dig a little deeper and, if you don't have a connection to the world yet, I'm not sure you would.

I guess it is just a little "digging" like you mentioned.... Pitching in Coors, hitting in Coors, etc. You have to read between the stats so to speak.

Bastard ;). I know that when the awards are voted on, like MVP and Silver Slugger, you might get some who don't vote -- mostly because it's after the season but near the rule 5 -- I would suspect more would vote.

In 3 of my worlds that recently just started, I haven't found one I'd vote for. Probably over analyzing.

I hope not. BTW, how many were able to be voted on? How many nominations? Auto and owner nominated?

I think we had 31-32. About 50/50 split. The three voted in were auto-noms.
