Yeah I agree, not that it being an Alpha test is in and of itself a bad thing, I assume it might be hard to test without having a good amount of users, that WIS likely doesn't have the manpower to do. But the fact that many parts of the code (ie tournament seeding / timeouts in games) has yet to be written does go to show that it is an Alpha test. Couple that with the fact that there was even thought that this would be ready to go within a month of the true official start date (heck it took almost 6 weeks from when invites were sent out to start simming games) is the scary part.

The official beta test will be when it gets released to the public before march madness. Right now they are just testing it to be 'good enough' to go public. Just like when FSS first rolled out when we all payed to beta test. Somethings never change.

I sincerly hope you are wrong, seble has said this won't happen and until he has made the same mistakes that TK made i think we need to take his word for it.

If this is the case that we end up Paying to beta test HD then I and hopefully others will hold wis accountable for that. I do not intend to pay to beta test and if that is what happens and it is implemented that poorly i would expect WIS to reimburse not only myself but other users. If not I would have no problem walking away.

why should we have faith that the fundamental engine problems we all see and are aware of will either A)be corrected or B) won't be replaced by other major issues?

Seble is making changes while we bring them up in the Test to the best he can. Unforuntately, with everything, fixing 1 thing most likely always leads to another. Im not sure if we NEED to have the faith, but it's one of those things that we HAVE to or there's no point to play anymore.

I have no faith in this...I'm almost expecting the game to get worse and not better, and if that happens, I'm gone....big loss I know.

i was actually referring to the current engine problems rather than new engine problems (or beta), but the point remains

agreed, this should concern wis greatly, a bad release (one that isnt ready or doesnt address current engine issues) will be nails in the coffin

I know WIS' track record is poor, but to this point seble hasn't been the reason behind that poor record so I don't think that he should be blamed for the past failures until he has had a chance and followed in those footsteps. Only time will tell how this will work out.

I, along with everyone else, have been doing exactly this since I started playing 4 years ago.
