What does the "interview" process consist of? An actual phone call from CS pretending to be the coach? well, "immediate feedback" should indicate to you that it's like an FA offer after the FA window is closed. You know instantly whether the coach is on the negotiation list or not. And as such, you don't need more than 6 cycles (to address below)

Also, for that type of feedback you need way more than 6 cycles
Or, perhaps, you would prefer that we increase the payroll. FAR better idea.

I ran out of money and didnt get a coach in time for my AAA pitching staff. I was awarded a coach that was infinitely better than the AAA coaches I was picking from. How'd that happen? Makes me want to let the computer pick my coaches all the time.

I agree something like Mike's suggestion should happen, even it was just a budget item like medical and we just picked a number to be the "coaching"

Personally I don't like any setting that every owner with half a brain would set virtually the same so I would like coaching philosophies to emphasize certain ratings that would get a greater boost to at the expense of other areas.

Seriously, I hate coach hiring. It is the one part of this 3 month-long game, I don't have the Ike or patience. Nothing would make this game better than a major change in coach hiring.

It's only a pain in the *** if you make it one. If you work yourself up into believing that the 83 is so much better than the 78, you'll find coach hiring to be a pain in the ***. If you realize that the difference between 83 and 73 isn't worth the hassle, it's a piece of cake.

As I said earlier, FI was the last position worth sweating. In a couple of seasons, everyone will get 70+ and you'll be foolish to chase FI.

No, it really isn't. The only competition was for FI. Every other position could be filled reasonably easy.

Coach hiring will soon be pointless because an advantage can't be gained.

i am just saying I hate doing it.... its not fun at all.

I'm not fond of the IFA process. But, if I want one, I do it. The difference is you "see" your future stud sign. And you can see his success/failures for the next 15 seasons. With coaches, you're just assuming they're doing what you want them to do.

Really that's the key point to be made. I don't think anyone really understands the value of coaches - me included.
Is an 85 really worth $4 million more than a 65 rated?

I said really a lot in that post, really, I did.
