Alright.
What would you rather do, assuming that you are diligent enough with your minors that you can do this;
- release AAA turds as they get "pushed out" (ie through promotion and eventually packing the AAA team near full) and hopefully pocketing the pro rated $$$ if they get claimed or signed, and thus leaving rookie ball for young turds that may catch a miracle or
- do what you do and hope they retire
Even though the odds of a rookie turd catching a major league upgrade is minimal, I'd rather take that chance than trying to get "those guys to retire". Worse case scenario if you release them is they are off your books beginning of next year...which is the same as retirement.
