No, but I have enough mediocre AAAA level players making $55K that renew every year to be able to shunt some of the older ones down to the rookie league to corrupt the young 'uns.

Alright.

What would you rather do, assuming that you are diligent enough with your minors that you can do this;

  • release AAA turds as they get "pushed out" (ie through promotion and eventually packing the AAA team near full) and hopefully pocketing the pro rated $$$ if they get claimed or signed, and thus leaving rookie ball for young turds that may catch a miracle or
  • do what you do and hope they retire
Even though the odds of a rookie turd catching a major league upgrade is minimal, I'd rather take that chance than trying to get "those guys to retire". Worse case scenario if you release them is they are off your books beginning of next year...which is the same as retirement.

***Kids, don't try this if your minor leagues are strewn with fatigue. For trained professionals only***

Ahhh, but suppose that your draft class had no true C or SS or 2B or CF. Every draft is chock full of fielders with 50/40/50/60 that are listed as 2B or 1/20/40/40/30 that are listed as Catchers. Why not throw your banjo-hitting 30 year old non-prospect down there to help the pitchers keep the scores in single digits?

Anyway, like I said (if you were paying attention) I typically don't have any legit prospects in rookie league, so I'm not really losing anything except patience with your uncomprehending Canuckian pseudo-logic.

To be fair, the n00b is in Foxx. The players in question could probably start for half the teams in Foxx. As you may or may not know, Foxx is f'd up. One owner seems to have accumulated about 70% of all BL talent.

So, in summation, STFU.

Well, judging from your 12 year rebuild in MG, you don't have legit prospects anywhere, but still, why take time away from a player that has a chance, no matter how slight, to be something, by sticking in a player with 0 chance to be something?

And you are losing something other than patience, namely 3 of your remaining 10 brain cells.
