To this day, I couldn't really tell you what happens during a press in HD. Is it a man to man press? A 2-2-1 or 1-2-1-1 zone press? Or maybe Pitino's old Kentucky press when they double team right when the player once he puts the ball on the floor? Where are the players on the court when they are pressing?

Did someone say that injuries don't happen in real life?

In RL, injuries can help ruin a team's season (Texas) or not (Purdue, Syracuse). In RL, it comes down to depth (or consistent recruiting success, if you prefer) and to a coach's ability to adapt.

I see no reason that including a semi-random feature that does the same thing for HD coaches should be removed. If I were to have my best player go down for the year, rather than complain about it being out of my control, I would just go about adjusting my depth charts/game plans to give my team the best chance of winning.

I would say, though, that regarding firings there out to be a protection for coaches who experience injuries. For example, if a team lost X number of player-games to injury in a given season, that coach cannot be fired, regardless of record.

Firings? Does HD have firings? Pretty sure those are a ghost story.

As myself and others have posted, there are tons of things from real life that aren't in HD, because what they bring is more negative than positive. You will see as you gain more experience that there are more than enough random and semi-random factors to contend with. Let's let player skill and coaching acumen mix with the naturally occurring randomness to decide things. We don't need any Kenyon Martin injuries deciding things instead.

I am fine with the way most injuries are currently handled. Players go down to about 80% health and it's up to the coach whether to keep playing them or use the backup more.

The effects are not long term and do reward rosters with a bit mroe depth.

I've had three occasions where I had a key starter get hurt during the NT, bad enough that he couldn't play the next game. Went 0-3 in those games (including a S16 and an E8 where I lost by one in OT). Had my best player sustain a major inury (30 health) a couple seasons ago in the 2nd exh game and basically miss the entire non-con.

I agree that most injuries are more of the minor variety, but imo, even one injury like the one I described above is one too many.

Dalt ~ I propose a compromise...not even sure if it is possible, but how about no injuries could occur in the CT/NT. Cause I do agree that NT injuries are just crippling and painful, but regular season ones don't hurt deep teams that much.

Also there are firings...Michigan in Allen had 1 this year.
