Regardless, we failed to ask the better question: when does this kick in? It can't be the first two minutes, right? So we're assuming it's later in the game, at which point it will be tougher to get to that number.

On the test site it was mentioned it will be handled in a similiar fashion to how the Double-Team if leading scorer works. You don't see teams doubling a guy because he scored the first basket of the game. And you shouldn't expect to see a players offensive production drop if he takes the first 3 shots of the game.

Thanks!

Yeah, so that tells me it matter even less. I just don't see it being the problem some people do. I think it's a much bigger problem that one great-but-not-elite player can get a huge distro and without the defense ever adjusting.

There are some things in the update I can see being concerned about. A fix that is primarily designed to prevent players from taking near 100% of their teams shots when they are on the floor and that I haven't heard any complaints about from the beta testers doesn't seem like one of them. The bingball strategy is a totally unrealistic one that we should all be happy to see go.

When looking at RL NCAA numbers there have been only a couple D1 players over the past 6 years that have taken 40% of their teams shots while they were on the court. Not 40% of the team's shots for the entire game, but rather just the number of shots taken while they were on the court.

Harangody was top this year at 37% and Steph Curry was 38% the year before.

the top scorer in the test world is a D1 SG averaging 41.2 a game.

Playing 37 min and shooting an average of 13/44 for fg (30%) and 8/28 on 3pt (29%) per game. Also 6.6 turnovers per game against most sim opposition.

I have a couple decent guards and if their distro is bumped a bit (around 20+ out of a total 100) they can usually score 25+ points when they have a distinct matchup advantage. It's been awhile in the current worlds where I had a guy consistently respond like that just by exploiting a matchup.

Could you speak to the future of the fastbreak as an offense? ( color="#2981c0" dknox - All*Star - 2:56 PM)

In my mind, both fastbreak and fullcourt press should not be base sets. They should be add-ons to a more traditional offense or defense. The question has always been "What happens in the half-court situation?", and that's a valid question. So I think it would work better to have them be separate preference settings to complement a traditional offense and defense.

seble - then get rid of the press, just take it away as an option. do it.

I think its going to work out well personally, because seble and company seem to be truly invested in getting it right. I was dismayed to have my question about Waylon Jennings music playing on all Ole Miss pbp pages ignored however.

7 and 3... directly from Seble.

not this again. i can't believe there are people out there who still stand by the 7 and 3 figures.

I think the Ninjas are going to secretly come in and install the new RNG supplied by the Illuminati tuned just to make Colonels experience unusual UNFORGIVABLE!!!!! games. The new RNG is going to be called the "Infinite Improbability Drive" or alternately, the "Heart of Gold'

Has the timeout logic been addressed? At the end of 2 games recently, I've seen my teams call 30 second time outs when we had 4 FULL timeouts on the board...is this cosmetic? Shouldn't we expect more rest/preparation out of a full timeout than a 30 second one? (colonels19 - Hall of Famer - 2:42 PM)

Timeouts will be used a little differently in the new engine. But as the testing process has exposed, we have to be careful about how powerful we make timeouts or they will allow teams to circumvent the fatigue system.

Isnt this how smart coaches in basketball use their timeouts? This one confused me a little.. i thought we are supposed to use timeouts to help manage player fatigue

Here's my problem though...it would be a last second situation, my team is down a bucket, my coach only calls a 30 second timeout when he has 4 FULL timeouts that he hasn't used, thus my question was, is this cosmetic, and if it isn't, why the hell isn't my coach calling one of the 4! FULL timeouts we have with 5 seconds to go in the game? If an extra 30 seconds gets my players incrementally fresher, then that's what I want done. A coach IRL wouldn't just take a 30 with 4 FULLs on the board.
