If I'm not mistaken, SIMMY recs are different in ST.  Do we know this doesn't apply in ST?   Even if it does, use 6 SP on 40 PC and do the work yourself every couple of games.  You can make it work.

Yes we do know. I am in ST right now.

The issue isnt the 6 Sp getting 40 pitches its getting the proper RPs innings in ST.

Again there is no reason to put the restrictions on the second guy in the game.

Then do the work.    Rest the pitchers you don't want to pitch.   Get the proper RP in the game.   This isn't really a disaster.  It just gives you a reason to pay attention is ST.

It is just frustrating to not be able to use it for RP in spring training. In "real life" teams do start their RPs or have them scheduled in spring training. In fact some teams do use their future big league RPs as 1-2 inning starters in the minors.

But I agree they should just do away with them all together in the majors. Except in ST
In RL spring training games, relievers get starts so they are guaranteed to face the opposition's "real" lineup, as opposed to the minor league scrubs that start entering the game in about the 3rd-4th inning. It's an evaluation tool.

Does anyone in HBD actually use spring training results to evaluate talent?

Haha. I felt good about myself when I saw the thread I started had 3 pages of replies in half a day. But only one or two replies were on topic. Poor me

Just got a look at the coach rehire page. They did a good job and with the promotion option you could save some cash by calling a AAA coach up and only paying him the minimum. I have a AAA BC that I can promote for 600 to ML that will be around the middle of the pack for ML BC.

One thing to note about the new coach hiring - they will accept more "desirable" coaching positions in addition to higher levels.  That is, a HC or PC will agree to become a BC at the current level or higher.  Only real problem that I see is that a BC insists on being a BC at any level, even if it's higher than his current demands.

Yep, you should definitely take it personally.

It sounds like people want to put relievers in as starters just to make sure they get some work.

I simply have a ton of guys in my ST bullpen and set most of them to Rest, while using tandems with low PCs. Usually have 4-5 guys pitching in every ST game, and then every couple of games or so I just change which bullpen guys are set to Rest to get the next 'wave' of relievers some innings. Can't be any more work than swapping middle relievers in and out of your SP spots.
