OK, maybe, it's not overall, but I am noticing more and more 4 and 5-foul games.
Player: ath/spd/def/IQ
http://whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerProfile/Ratings.aspx?tid=3900&pid=1669577: 75 / 54 / 91 / A -- 4 fouls in 3 of his last 8 games for an elite defender
http://whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerProfile/Ratings.aspx?tid=3868&pid=1715047 54 / 91 / 78 / A- -- 4 or 5 fouls in 22% of his games this season (5 of 22)
http://whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerProfile/Ratings.aspx?tid=3189&pid=1755492 65 / 65/ 75 / B -- 4 or 5 fouls in 22% of his games and 3 or more in half.
I found those guys in about two minutes. I can keep finding guys who have too many 4 and 5 foul games.
Ultimately, you may be right, but it seems like there has been an uptick in guard fouls (especially since, at least in my experience watching college basketball, guards rarely foul out unless intentionally fouling at the end of the game).
Honestly, those are horrible examples.
The first guy is on a sim team, and I looked through a few of his 4 foul games. He was playing tired or worse for a pretty long time.
2nd guy, his four/five foul games, look at who it came against the competition he faced at the guard positions: Marantha Baptist Bible, Dickinson, Beloit, these are three of the top programs in D3 Wooden. And if you look at the pbp, this guy is playing tired every game, and sometimes, very tired (game vs. dickinson, for example).
3rd guy: B IQ (B- at the start of the season) with 74 stamina (69 at the start of the season) playing 23mpg in a fcp system...he's fouling...sounds about right. If he's not fouling, then I would be concerned... (edit: this guy is playing more minutes than my A+ PG with 98 stamina on my fcp team. His mpg should be at 17, not 23).
Unless there are a bunch of guards on human teams that are fouling more than the previous season, I think you are just getting unlucky.
