I wish advanced scouting also somehow gave you information on a player's decline. Some players start declining at 30 while others can barely see any kind of drop until they hit 35. Makeup gives a little clue, but not much. This would make advanced scouting a bit more useful, even if it was some sort of year-end report you got in your inbox.

I actually think that's a pretty cool idea.

you can see how much players improve/decline every year (by overall points). there's a report for that

I think what he's asking for is a report saying "This is where he'll be at 33.  This is where he'll be at 35 and this is where he'll be at 37."   Sort of a reverse of what we see now.

i guess my point was since improvement can be estimated via the 0 advanced scouting method on a players way up, why not just use the same formula on the way down?

Contracts.   By the time you see a pattern of decline, the player may still have 2-3 seasons left on his 5 year deal.   

But I know what you're saying.  I can look at a 34 y/o and know that giving him a 5 year deal is just stupid.   I assume everyone can't.

I think, sometimes, people act stupidly because they're stupid.   Or because they know they don't have to deal with the far away bad stuff.
