wait... so the "glitch" is that if a guy has an injury that affects his ratings, you can put him on the 60-day DL and leave him there the whole season & he'll keep getting "recovery" bumps...?
Yup

but it depends on which ratings were affected by the injury and/or your medical budget?

Yes.  You'll only see recovery in the ratings that were hit by the injury.

http://whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=2296464 had a peak health rating of 39, played pretty regularly for playoff teams most of his career, had a handful of tweaks in sprains, but nothing major.

http://whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=1144407 has a peak health rating of 91, pitched pretty regularly for playoff teams most of his career, had 5 trips to the 60 day DL, another 3 15 day trips.  He had elbow surgery 3 times, a shoulder aneurysm twice, a labrum tear 1 time, a sore shoulder and a sore pectoral muscle. 196 career wins (and counting) that would have pushed 250+ w/o all those injuries.

Sure, its one man's anecdotal evidence, but color me unconvinced that a high health rating is significantly better at preventing major injuries than a low health ratings.  Minor tweaks and strains, a low health guy will see a ton of those, but career altering injuries?  I'm not so sure about.

I'd recommend you pay no mind ot health ratings from here on out.   Let us know how it works for ya'.

Would playing a guy like that at DH reduce the likelihood of injury being that he could only be injured during at bats or running the bases as opposed to being a position play in the field who has so many more opportunities?

In my experience, pitchers and MIF are more prone to injury.    Pretty much follows the defensive standards of HBD.   SS, 2B/CF, 3B, LF/RF, 1B.   C/P are on their own levels.

I would never recommend "paying no mind to health ratings", but I don't think they're quite as big as some people fear.  I've seen enough low health players go their careers w/ few major injuries and enough solid health players get dinged for multiple 60 day DL trips to make it more than a primary or secondary concern w/ deciding b/w two players.

I'm sure the owner of: http://whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=1473031 is perfectly happy they took a "chance" on a lower health guy.

I'm not sure 40s is "low" health.    I present the 11 year career of one Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Todd Sutton as evidence that low health is a killer.

what would you call "low" health, MikeT?

this would've been a good guy for "the glitch" right? Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Al Johnson
don't know if you see his in-season developments if you're not in our world, but looks like his injury was pretty early (after opening day, he's had 2 "Regular Season" bumps post-injury).
injury affected his arm strength, arm accuracy, health, stamina, control, vL, vR, velocity, and all 5 of his pitches!
his owner put him on the 7-day DL, and the "Injury Recovery" didn't improve any of his ratings...
so, should he have put him on the 60-day and left him there the whole season?? or what?

There seems to be a huge increase in injuries to players below 30 health.   That said, I've largely avoided those guys since Todd Sutton so maybe my sample size is small.   But 30 is my cut-off.
