ABA Parallel League - adding to waitlist ! Topic

Given the smaller player pool, fatigue could be an issue on some teams.

But, given it is the ABA, well, I guess that will be part of the full experience

We are very very close. I will set up a thread for the ABA league on the theme section of basketball forum, and will be alerting each committed owner about the thread with a site mail message.

I will take the Anaheim Amigos

I joined but then realized this would require a lot of research at a time I'm dealing with pressing work issues- sorry.

Please put the LA Stars in the west and the Memphis Tams in the east. The divisions can be done anyway that is convenient as long as I have an advantage.

Not a problem - I very much appreciate you letting us know - I do think it will be a little more work than the usual draft, but that may be a part of the fun. Good luck

Argh, I keep trying to keep back on WIS, but I'm totally into the spirit of this league.

I'll take my childhood hometown Denver Nuggets.

good deal longtall -

I'm still ****** that jackass John Y. Brown sold Dan Issel to the Baltimore Claws and then Denver somehow snagged him-

I still rooted for those ABA teams for several years after the Kentucky Colonels were RIPPED out of NBA consideration

I think almost every time I'm in a league your there as well -

I'm coming to put a whippin on you longtall- and that Denver altitude aint gonna stop it

sorry - John Y. Brown got me a little revvvved up

ah heck- I need to stop holding a grudge about losing the Colonels...
and this sim wont really bring 'em back...

after all we got a team more fun to root for
and the haters say they are paid like a pro team... Go Big Blue

Well, if it makes you feel any better at all I was a huge admirer of Issel (the Horse!) as a kid.  He probably had no business playing center in the NBA but he slogged it out with Kareem, Lanier and the rest for several seasons.  Not that he was any kind of notable defender, but he taught me a proper defensive stance at a summer hoops camp when I was in fifth grade.  A really nice guy!

Issel is a HUGE deal still in Kentucky
one of THE legends of Kentucky Basketball history-

that's way cool to have met him and worked with him at a camp-
I think he was a underrated pro - scored a ton and was out of position- small market killed him-

just think if he had been with a bigger market team ....

while the Issel deal is cool and all, Im still gonna lay a whippin on you, altitude sickness or not.

I am trying not to use geography-
and let random draw from NY lottery dictate Conference alignments.

Your deal is especially difficult in that there are
Two 'Stars' nicknamed teams (your LA & Utah) &
Two Memphis cities - (your Tams & Sounds)

I'm hopeful that separating similar names will make things less repetitive and more unique within each Conference.
I think it would get hard or more confusing if there were Two Memphis, two Pittsburgh, two Denver, Two Pipers, all in the same Conference.

Is this league full? I don't see any openings on page 1 or the thread. I do see several owners with 2 teams.
