Without a point? That sounds like he's a "low-low" and not an "average"... I thought the scale for "average" was a minimum of 7 and max of 19 or 20? Did he have poor Work Ethic or something to go along with the "average" to have this type of result?
Which brings me to the next question, if a player has higher work ethic, does that mean his "high's" and "lows" will generally be at the higher end of the window (Ie: More likely for a Low-High to get the full rank up, instead of the 20 minimum)?
Yup, it can change color without a point. The reason is that there is actually a decimal in the rating number that we can't see. So it could go from 40.4 to 40.7 and that could trigger the change in color (i.e. potential left) but you wouldn't be able to see the whole number change. You will notice it happen, just keep an eye out for it and you'll see the same rating number be two different colors.
And yeah, as TJ says, WE doesn't have anything to do with it.
Yeah it sucks when it happens to you like I described but in a way it's better because you need to have a little bit of unknown out there and not know EVERYTHING about a player. There are always surprises.
