It does not Mike. D2 has plenty options.
D1 has plenty of options also. In fact, I think D1, D2 and D3 have the exact same amount of options. But D1 users just want to pick/choose their options first then let everyone else play. If you want a back-up plan, develop it before RS2.

It had nothing to do with that. D3, D2 and D1 pool.
D2: D2 and D1 pool.
D1 : D1 pool.
Top D1: need a top 50 players, at least, per class, to have a shot.

Assuming all-in effort (promises and visits) from A+ D2 school, leaving APs and preferences out of the discussion, and assuming D1 team has matched promises and the CV, how much HV "effort" should D1 team need to pull even, and to "put away", or knock out of signing range.

D+ - 15, NA
C+ - 10, 20
B+ - 5, 15
A+ - NA, 10

The idea that a D level D1 should just erase all effort and promises from an A+ D2 with minutes is laughable. For starters, A+ D2s are much better teams than D level D1s. My ACU squad in Naismith would beat my D level CSUN team in Smith by 30 points, easily. I don't mind having the automatic level modifying disadvantage, but A+ D2 should be (and is, as far as I can tell) essentially treated as an F+ D1 for recruiting purposes.

If you're going to have an effort based system for obtaining commodities in a commodity game, you have to let the market set the price. No cherry-picking.

Then reduce the prestige value of d2 compared to D1... Right now it's too close.

It has plenty to do with it. All your statement was "If a D1 offers minutes, they win the battle". That's bullshit.

What you fail to accept/acknowledge is that D2/D3 users aren't 2nd class citizens. They plunk down the same money as D1 and they also want to win. It's just that simple.

Oh, man, people are going to get all over you for that post. You are not supposed to ask for D1 welfare.

Not any more offensive than the phrase "participation trophy".

I wouldnt use the term welfare, but not because it's offensive. It just isn't very precise. If we're going to use socially charged terms to describe what spud is trying to describe, I think "privilege" works better. It's more accurate, and is likely to get more panties wadded up by the people arguing for it.

This is dead on D1 privilege.

" For starters, A+ D2s are much better teams than D level D1s."

This is true. But not for the right reasons. They're only better because recruit generation is horrible and SIMs are typically dumbazzes. Heck, D3 teams are better than a lot of D1 Sims. It doesn't mean that's how it SHOULD be (IMHO). It's not representative what you'd see in college bball.

It's true, because that's the game we want to play. Removing pull-downs would be a huge change, and I doubt it would be very popular. People want to have the option to reach up. People want the recruiting game to be effort based, for better or worse. My preference would be to remove all the effort based stuff, but it's not going to happen. So as long as it's a commodity game, I want it to be both rational and competitive. Whether or not it is an accurate representation of real college basketball in this particular aspect is not high on my list of priorities.
