Yeah, should you have won,absolutely but your game planning and team build opened the door to give them a chance.

Learn from this.

Things I noticed:

100% agree with beagles that +2 was a mistake
Playing the small forward into yellow so that he would take all the shots with the backups isn't optimal
not having an outside shooter really hurt
You need someone on your bench with distro in motion

I am not anti up tempo but I respect the guys who are posting their experiences

FWIW I would have run uptempo as well.

As a big favorite, the more possessions the less chance of upset usually.

My only issue with uptempo is the impact on fatigue when someone gets into foul trouble. I don't normally do it when my bench is much worse than my starters.

I think in this case his lack of distro with the bench players and extended minutes of the SF kinda hurt.

Even if there may have been a few things that could have improved your game plan (and I am not among those who thing running uptempo was a mistake in this situation), it still was an incredibly unlucky result. You had built a great team. You should still win that game 96 times out of 100. Tough luck.
