Phelan was extra crazy today.

Congrats to UNC for convincing the #3 and #13 guys to return. Old Roy's mojo working.

Bummer to tristandavis for losing a Jr not on the board. Perhaps motivated after claiming back to back titles??

Remember when I lost a 40-60 to you for him? If I had known he would stay 4 years maybe I would have given his mommy a new car to get him to come to Champaign!

I cried like a child when I saw that all 3 of my potential EE were all leaving (plus I have a SR that will get drafted), but I pooped my pants when I saw UNC had #3 & #13 stay. Which brings me to my next point, can WIS start accounting for (if they don't already) the fact that a player at a smaller school/conference will have less exposure than those at big schools/conferences and therefore they should be less likely to jump to the NBA early. The fact that I am asking this has nothing to do with me being a coach at Dayton in the A10.

as much as this makes sense, i don't really like that given the state of today's game. if this was back in 2.0 when the big confs had huge advantages - sure, i'd go for it. it would be an offsetting factor. but you can't make an a10 / cusa team objectively better than a BCS team from the standpoint of someone who can easily overcome the baseline prestige, and a low major arguably best of all if its a sliding effect.

i suppose you could perhaps use prestige, not baseline or conference, and it would be ok. i think it would lose its appeal to many who like the idea, though, if that is what was done.

Yea I’m pretty pumped up about this, too bad I couldn’t
get #4 to stay too. But I have not been lucky with EEs at all since I’ve been at UNC I think I deserved it! Plus I’ve had two bad seasons in a row.

I don’t know whether the proposal is serious or in jest, but it would be a hard pass from me. The team’s performance in the postseason already has an effect on the likelihood of early entry, and that’s as far as it should go.
