I am 16, I started playing when I was like 10 under another account, I was terrible. I started up again when I was 13, and I’ve been playing ever since. I’ve tried not to mention my age on the forums in the past because I didn’t want whatever I was asking or answering to be looked at differently.

All of my friends ask me what I am doing on my phone or computer and they are all interested, but when I say it costs money to try they lose interest. I think that this game could work really well with teenagers, but the investment is in the front end as opposed to the back end. I explain to my friends that I don’t spend any money on the game anymore, but that you have to spend time and money to get good enough to do that. Teenagers are not interested in that kind of system. Look at the success of Fortnite, it’s all because it is a free game, everyone goes “it’s free I might as well try it” and then after they are sucked in they spend money just to look cool, and now Fortnite if the most successful game of all time.
You're kidding, right?
That I am 16? No
Seriously, 16?

I never would have guessed that based on the sophistication of your language skills. My compliments.

I laugh thinking about 7th grade me arguing with adults on the forums.

Sixteen? I’m surprised to see someone younger than me on here. Also funny how a teenager is laying down the law in Tark.

I have also encountered the same thing with my friends. The money up front is a barrier for a lot of people my age. The difference I guess is that I have a job and enough disposable income to pay now and hopefully win later.

You laugh...the adults you were debating at the time have just started crying.

I won 3 March madness pools with my dads work when I was in elementary school, adding up to over $2000, and I won a couple of fantasy football leagues for more money, I’ve been riding my gambling money for my needs.

I take pride in winning my family's march madness pool when I was nine. Haven't even come close since, it would probably be best if I didn't follow college basketball and just picked randomly.

Ding ding ding. Baby of the HD forums goes to monster. Congrats.

I think you're right about the introduction cost to this game. I know I would have loved it as a teenager but 16 year old Benis was too busy blowing his Walmart paycheck on Bartons vodka and mountain dew. I've said many, many times that they should change the cost structure of this game. Doesn't need to be free, but $12 per season is a little much.

Although it's better than any of that micro transaction BS that internet games nowadays use.

This is unreal! Honestly, I didn't like you before. You shot me down one time because i went off topic in a thread of yours (which is not a bad thing). You are now my favorite coach in the game.

The picture comes to mind of the movie Italian Job. When Wahlberg is flashbacking, regarding being a thief his whole life. And it shows a lil kid setting up a bully to steal his wallet. Although you're not THAT young now, you were when you started. A little hustler in the making! Today's forum coach of the day!

I’m also remembering 8 year old me running downstairs every morning before school to check to see if my team won (which was rare) on the old tube desktop in the basement that I was allowed to use. I recruited high WE guys because i thought of myself as a hard working basketball player. I would sort my recruiting by >90 WE and then look for the highest DE (because according to my second grade basketball coach defense wins championships). I didn’t use FSS because I thought you had to use real money to use it.

I made it to the tourney at least once (my memory is a little stretched).

I think that was a little young to start.

Yup. I loved the linear growth but 1.0 has some serious flaws.
