On the 1885 players, I would almost say you would need to a) have them be in this draft and/or b) have some poor furloughed laid off guy go through and actually determine players that were rookies THAT season and create a list of draftable players for that season

*Notice this plan sounded a lot better before loading up BBR and seeing 359 debuts in 1884 that would have to manually checked against 1885 to see which season was their debut by WiS standards*

You know what would be interesting might have time to do it this weekend would be sort out when all the 1885 players started and build seperate draft classes that goes back say till 1880 or earlier of course the first year they could use is 1885 so that way we could still use each player in the database

Since you dont like AAA, just have everyone put 7 of their 32 draftees on I.R. for the year.

I dislike AAA-this should work. IR players in season 2 should be rostered or cut, unless they actually missed season (were genuine IR's). Should not be able to stockpile IR indefinitely.

This is what I'm going to do.
I will add 7 more seasons so everyone gets two #1 picks and all 32 seasons are on a rotating schedule for the Initial Draft. However, everyone will still only draft 25 players. Which means you will skip picking from 7 seasons, your choice. It may end up being your #16 picks and/or any other pick in a weak season, whatever, it is up to you which 7 picks you skip. You will still need to post during the draft that you are "PASSING" on that pick when it is your turn. At the end of the draft you can only have 25 drafted players even though you are allotted 32 picks.

For future season draws 1885 will be a Free Agent season. 1 owner each year will be randomly chosen and that owner can draft 1 player from 1885 in exchange for Cutting their most expensive player going into the next season.

What about the re-cycling of players?

If I draft a rookie from 1976, and then cut him 3 years later, can he be drafted again the next time someone gets 1976 as their year?
Or are they gone forever once they are used?

since we can only draft players from their rookie season (per WiS) I would not imagine that would be an issue

They can be drafted again however they must start with their rookie season again.

Just asking, but will we be allowed to take a 2nd team if we start to slow down?
