The D2 Challenge Topic

I have seen that before as well. I thought it was D1 to D3 but it might be because of your D1 prestige.

Wait high prestige DIs can't sign DII projected guys?

Anyways, at C- or so I've signed many a DII Juco.

I wonder where the cut-off is. Just curious. I've got a D2 team now in Allen and will move up at some point.

I think you'll have much more success RS1 TJ. You should be able to sign ~2 decent jucos per year (redshirting one of them) and find 1 decent 4-year guy. I think you can make NT with that.

My first year at KU, recruiting with an A prestige, I could sign D2 pool players. I signed at least 3 from D2 pool, two jucos (might have been 3) and a freshman who I would redshirt that first season. Might have been a factor that I literally had one single player returning from the previous season, so despite the high prestige, my AD was lenient. That would be pretty intelligent design, if that was the case.

It used to be a thing, at least in 2.0. Depending on your prestige and the quality of the recruit you were trying to sign your AD could block you, basically saying the recruit is beneath the standards of the program.

I was a big deal when the Sr. Transfer thing was important.

OK - So I was just able to sign 2 D1 Transfers that only showed up as D2 players with my A+ prestige Iowa team. So obviously you can do it, as others have stated. That said, recruiting ended as usual at 11 PM Eastern - They did not sign until 2:18 AM this morning. It's almost as if it cycled through every possibility to see if any D2 school offered a scholarship. Sorry - didn't mean to hijack this thread. Thought I should share though.

One of them was a player you cut, TJ!

the cutoff is somewhere in d2 space. an a+ d1 can recruit any player listed in d1, but only some in d2 - definitely the higher d2 guys can be in reach and there are definitely d2 guys who you won't be allowed to sign. d3 is mostly a bust, but if i remember correctly, the highest players in the d3 pool (who are higher than the lowest in the d2 pool) can occasionally be accessible for d1 teams too. not sure if that was a+ d1 or what. i could be wrong, all of d3 might be out of reach, im maybe 75% in thinking i've gotten a d3 transfer somewhere in high d1. its definitely a small minority though, at most.

not a bad post player, can’t score, only 70 Ath, gonna chalk him up to a fringe D1 guy

WE is tough with only 3 years.

I think that'll be the issue with guys you can find even with good cores.

Low WE, brutal sta, or bad GS in bigs.

finally got a guard. Again, low ath, but not super low and he can’t score but he will be a D1 defender and have decent BH/Pass
