Not sure if you answered this, but are we to assume this is a person, or people?

Or could this be a team, group, pairing, organization type of answer?

Phil Jackson. "Don't waste too many stones on one bird" is a Zen saying.

Diamond Stone, drafted by the Pelicans, traded to the Hawks. Cut before playing a game with the Hawks because he threw up too many bricks?

I can't believe I missed Diamond Stone. Huge Illinois / B10 fan. Loved that name.

Didn't know he played for the Pelicans but that part fits.

Good stuff wronoj. This was a hard one.

Still looking for the correct answer.

Josh Reaves.

Two birds, one stone could be a reference to being very efficient. Conversely, one bird, too many stones could be a reference to being very inefficient. Josh Reaves was by far the least efficient player in the NBA in 2019-20.

Hint is needed. No more guesses coming in

No one has actually guessed Drake, right?

So, Aubrey Graham Drake.

Two Birds One Stone = his song
One Bird (Raptors) Too Many Stones = Drake's sideline antics either being too ballsy (too many stones) or the fact that he's cost the Raptors some serious cash in fines due to his sideline & post-game behavior?

I'm getting creative here but hear me out...

Brook Lopez

He and his brother Robin both went to Stanford - that makes them each 1 Cardinal. Together they are 2 birds. At present, on the Milwaukee Bucks, there is Sterling Brown. Sterling = Silver = Stone? That's two birds, one stone.

The reason I pick Brook is that he was drafted by the Nets back in '08 and was separated from his brother making him 1 bird...in his second season with the team they dropped 70 games (finishing 12-70). You could say the team hit rock bottom that year and at rock bottom there are a whole lotta stones?
Ok so wait, has anybody guessed Robin Lopez then?

I'll guess Robin Lopez.

can it be about one of the sets of nba twins?
Or Robin and Brook Lopez??

Ding ding ding!

We have a winner! The correct answer is Robin and Brook Lopez.

Two birds one stone: two answers one riddle.
One bird: Robin
Too many stones: Brook, as in a stony brook.

Sol_phenom3 was all over it from the very beginning. He will get one Riddle Point, and fluff_nasty will get the other Riddle Point.
emy1013 will get Street Cred for McCaw.

Thanks for playing, you all had some really good and creative guesses! See ya next time.
