My best team right now (9-3) was the 17th pick in League 4.

Juice....time to start teasing the next league. Not that I plan on making it given I was #240 after 8 games but interested to see your thoughts.

When do we all have to use the same players? haha.
How about defining the IF, OF, SP and RP options and let each owner choose one of each and one of 6 parks...hahaha. Never know who is the best until someone beats you with the same players... hahah. Then someone will just say it was the luck of the SIM...haha.

Looking forward to it.

Keep an eye open for the next version of the Big Dick Identical Roster League. We draft 23 players and a park that everyone uses, then each owner picks two wild-card players to fill out their roster with the remaining cap money. Always a fun (and mildly inappropriate) draft and a great managing challenge.

League 3 is already worked out - I just haven't posted it yet. I'll get it up in the forum eventually. For what it's worth, the research for Round Three shouldn't be as intensive as it was for Round Two. At least, I don't think it will be...

Well I’m not responsible for Rusty Kuntz’s name.

With 29 teams playing in round 2, my mood is often measured by what my 29-game record is in each session. Of course, I want to be at least 15-14 every session, although based on how high my draft picks are, I'd prefer a 16-13 or 17-12.

My teams are sorted by league number, and the way I have my laptop configured, I can visually see the results of the first 11 teams, prior to scrolling down. Then I slowly scroll down team by team as I calculate my 29-game win-loss record. Normally, the wins and losses bounce around... Maybe I start 6-5, scroll down a few leagues, am now at 10-7... scroll down some more... 12-10... keep scrolling... 16-13. OK... decent session... then I start reviewing box scores and potentially making changes to lineups or pitching, as needed.

In today's pm session, the first 11 teams are 7-4, I start scrolling down... Loss, Win (8-5), Win, Win (10-5), Win, Loss, Win, Win (13-6). Ooooh, this could be a big session for me as the anticipation amps up. Even a .500 finish would be an 18-11 session.

I start scrolling some more....
Loss, Loss, Loss, Loss, Win, Loss*, Loss, Loss, Loss*, Loss* (* = Top 30 pick)
Started 13-6, finished 1-9.... a disappointing 14-15 session. I think I'd rather go Loss, Win, Loss, Win, etc. than getting my hopes up like that.

Seven straight below .500 sessions since I posted this, with multiple blown 9th-inning multi-run leads.

Let's do a little inventory some of my team's best late-inning reliever / closers. Anybody else have issues with really good RPs sucking? I didn't even list all the guys that suck... just when the guy I am using as a closer on the team sucks.

My League 6 closer Satchel Paige has managed to compile an 0-4 record despite allowing only 5 runs (4 earned). The ERA may be good, but the timing has been awful.

Just some of the latest streaks going on with my teams...

1901-02 Americans Reds: L5 (started 11-6)
1905-06 Naps/Browns: L4 (started 12-6)
1939-40 Yankees/A's: 2-5 run (started 11-4)
1963-64 Orioles/Colt 45's: 1-4 run (started 10-7)
1967-68 Orioles/White Sox: 2-5 run (started 9-6)
1971-72 Orioles/Phillies: 2-6 run (started 12-2)
1997-98 Angels/Cardinals: L11 (started 5-6)
1999-00 Red Sox/Brewers: L5 (started 11-6)

Some quick math shows a combined 7-45 run for teams that started a combined 81-43.

I suck at most decades but between 1991 and 2002, I've really missed the boat. Currently sitting at a combined 42 w's and 78 l's...

1991-1992 Brewers/Phillies 8-16
1993-1994 Astros/Brewers 9-15
1993-1994 Expos/Mets 7-17
2001-2002 Braves/Pirates 11-13
2001-2002 Indians/Mets 7-17

The wheels have momentarily aligned, and all 10 of my teams are now 12-12 or better. I'll take that.

Weird stuff going on in League 7 - HOOPSRUS and FOOTBALLMM11's PM and PM2 games today weren't simmed. Everyone elses was but not theirs. Ticket has been submitted to Admin - awaiting an answer...

Answer Received: "Sometimes there are issues where players in the same position or same order in the lineup (ie two players batting 8th) will happen when the game tries to assist with an adjustment of a lineup for whatever reason. The roster is still valid, just an error."
