Anyone else think this is a bug? Topic

Nah, I don't mind. But my posts always get reinstated.

Are you snake-p? I've thought you were for awhile now.

You think everyone's an alias...

and only one person doesn't like you, but he masquerades as a few hundred aliases.

A position player with 22 DUR would also be tired for the rest of the season. And you can play tryout camp pitchers at positions. You just have to make sure they have DUR to handle it.

I signed him originally as a LF because the guy I drafted was holding out. He then signed, so this guy came off the bench to rest him everyday. Eventually, I needed a P and moved him back there.

Heck, I've even moved a pitcher up my draft board because he had the ratings (99AS/95AA/50PC) to be a pretty good defensive catcher.

WIS doesn't have an issue with people using aliases. They just look the other way anyway.

Nevermind. I will.

My new starting 1B in LoA MG:

82 Durability/45 stamina. That's as good as plenty of legit position players.

7 AB, 100%.

17 AB, 100%

29 AB, 100%

32 AB, 98%

It's beginning to look like there's a hidden rating that says "No, you cannot use pitchers as position players."

One might say "It's not a bug. It's EXACTLY how WifS plans it to be."

I used an 80 DUR pitcher for 18 games at DH in rookie league. On game 13 he went to 93% and tumbled to 65 (65) by game 18. 28 HBD days of rest later (and season over) he's at 77(77).

I do wonder if pitching once would turn your guy's recovery speed back to a pitcher's recovery... maybe get your guy down to 60 or 50 (it'll be by Sunday or Monday) and then see if throwing 5 pitches will get him back on track?

37 AB, 88%

To reiterate, 82 durability/45 stamina. Training camp pitcher with his position changed to 1B.

Similar player, 80/24, on the same team has 231 AB and is still 100%.

I think this experiment is over. "Pitchers" are designated as pitchers by WifS and cannot be used as position players without heavy fatigue. It is not a bug. It works exactly how WifS intends for it to work.

Switched back to pitcher, he is 88(89). Doesn't look like his recovery will be "pitcher" based.

This situation is a by-product of the different ways position player durability and pitcher durability are handled. Same thing that keeps that 30 dur C from that many ABs is keeping your pitcher from seeing the field. I'd be interested to see what happens if you force him to the mound in a game. Would that jolt him out of the other recovery cycle and back to a pitcher's, or would the position-player one act as a ceiling of sorts?

No, it wouldn't. I've tried that with some of the teams I've picked up in mid-season

You should. You might pick up a thing or two.
