Should've been 14-3 (4-1) except that my cardinals can't seem to hold on to any leads in the past two games :(

im not trying to start an academic ******* contest, but please, lets not compare georgetown's student-athletes on their basketball team to duke
So you know Roy Hibbert's and Greg Monroe's SAT score?

You might be right. Duke might have higher admission standards for basketball players than G-Town. What about Stanford? The Lopez' (despite one of them ending up inel for a bit) probably had to meet a legit threshold. My point is simply that there are guys who could get into Duke who aren't going to Duke.

And now nobody cares about the Boilers yet again. They have all of the tools of a Final Four team. Good ball-handlers, great 3-point shooters, a couple stars (Hummel and JaJuan Johnson) and a stifling defense. Including the best perimeter defender in the Nation (Chris Kramer). Purdue is going to bounce back today against Northwestern and run hot into the tourney. Making the Final Four and shocking everyone except us loyal fans here in West Lafayette.

Agreed. Love Purdues team

Why are we assuming Duke's bball players are so much better academically than their competition? Going back a ways, I remember reading that J.R. Reid and Scott Williams had better SAT scores than Danny Ferry and Christian Laettner. And Duke used to win a ton of tourney games with a lot of white guys too. They just don't recruit as well as they used too.

Also, I'm a Villanova grad, but unfortunately I don't think they are top 4. They look fantastic when they are on a roll, but tend to be streaky. Plus, Reynolds can't possibly keep up his play of recent weeks.

coach k actively avoided guys he thought would go early entry for quite a while. he relaxed that, but still goes after guys who will likely stay several years, a player who is also more likely to value an education. this unfortunately has cost duke in postseason success, which i can live with rather than recruiting players who have no stake in an education at all.

I'm sure Coach K will sleep much better at night knowing that you approve of his recruiting tactics.

I think Purdue is definately one of the Top 10 teams in the country. I just don't know if they have enough horses to matchup with the Top 4 or 5 teams.

you might be right, but i definately think their talent will carry them to the Final 4. it all depends on how the freshmen play, wall and cousins play well together but are also prone to turnovers at times. i think they are exciting and will be a difficult team to beat

Duke is solid, but take them out of their home gym and match them up against a team with athletes and I think they will be in trouble. To me Duke will not have the talent to get stops on Defense against the better teams. Also if Duke is having a bad shooting night it usually derails them, especially away from home.

I totally agree with this, and was surprised it took that long for someone to bring it up. Is Kentucky one of the top four most talented teams in the country? It would be hard to argue otherwise. But the Cats need to prove themselves before I expect a title run from them. We'll see how that lack of experience pans out in the tourney.
