Opportunity for New World Topic

ah, green -- your smugness luminates from you postings.

I guess you only have my word. Not good enough for you, but thank HEAVENS you are not the end all person I have to impress.

When you're just a random d-bag on the internet, your word is worthless.

If you really are committed, then prove it. You have 11 active teams, try to make a few of them an extended stay. If you have experience, a history of longevity, and no spiteful or tanking behavoir, you can pretty much get in wherever you want with just a few exceptions.

Until then, you're only going to be wanted by worlds desperate for a stopgap owner to fill up.

dmurph -- the statement in bold wasn't meant as a rant and rave as to why I 'personally' am being omitted. I guess I made it more about me than what my original focus was (which was "why I didn't see a posting about it at all?"). You and csherwood explained both reasons (Commish desires and where posting may be located).

I guess my addiction to the game is more a negative than a positive, is what it comes down to. I don't think WifS agrees with that every time I hand them money, but to each their own.

The problem with your solution is, if I do what you say, I am hence bailing on teams simply because I choose to cut down the number of teams. Isn't that hypocritical? Nobody seems to mind when I help take over said teams so that their leagues can roll. No one complains when I take over most abandoned teams so that they can have an owner that prevents an absolute tanking and fatigue issue to keep the integrity of the world intact.

deanod -- I respect that answer. I am currently doing that. I don't quite understand how I am being a 'random d-bag' as all I am doing is responding to criticism by other owners. I think I have taken the steps for what you suggest, and you can personally attest to that in WIB world.

And I can honestly say I have never had spiteful or tanking intentions. I hate to lose in general, and I am not good at understanding the whole tanking strategy anyway. Even when dmurph declined me for Powers, I discussed with him, but in the end I felt we handled it on both ends in a mature matter. I respected his decision. Dmurph, if I did anything that might assume otherwise, please let me know.

I am sure you will be pleased to know I am done posting. I got what I wanted out of this thread. Thanks to all that gave good constructive criticism.

Ismael Lunar sure is happy an owner who prevents fatigue issues took over in San Juan.

Your question was basically how to get considered for the new worlds and the ones that are considered 'elite'.

That was my best answer. Now if you were to stay in all of those dozen or so leagues for a few seasons each, and somehow managed to be active in each of them, the # of teams wouldnt hurt you nearly as much as it is now. I just dont see that as feasible.

Ive gotta laugh. He's starting every single game. 2 weeks after Powers and you still havent gotten your teams back up to speed. Its not just as simple as logging in every day. But its not that difficult to promote and sign tryout camp pitchers.

Why bother promoting and signing tryout camp guys when you have 10 other teams that are more successful and you plan to leave at the end of the season anyhow?

ratatat, yes you handled it in a mature manner. And Im not trying to pile on. Had you fixed all the issues tright away, and if your teams were in ok shape now, it would be a little different.

5/5/2010 1:43 PM
I have re-upped in that world I have San Juan in, so please at least verify if you want to make demeaning remarks toward me.

I don't understand the need for you guys to constantly slam me. I've restated that you have answered my questions, but you feel the need, for no other reason than that you have nothing else better to do, to ridicule me and my reasonings for doing what I like to do.

I'm sorry I offended you guys to this point. It does make me realize why I don't get involved in many forum chats in the first place.

dmurph -- like I said, I understand and respect that. I asked, you answered, and that's that.
5/5/2010 1:46 PM
My opinion. Get all your teams in good shape and then leave several of theM, it seems like it's too many for you to handle.
5/5/2010 1:46 PM
I will point out that Lunar's last game was in March which presumably is when ratatat had the personal issues that pulled him away. So Lunar wouldnt be the right guy to look at to see if rat has fixed his current teams.

yet again, actions speak louder than words ... you can't even follow through on this simple statement

The random d-bag thing has nothing to do with your behavior.

Everyone on the internet starts off as a random d-bag until they prove otherwise. You did a solid job turning around a crappy team in WIB, but you need to stick around in some places to shed the random d-bag status.

One way to workaround your reputation is to offer to arrange a situation with the commish and customer support where you pay for your first 3 seasons in advance. If you do that, I'm sure people would be much more open to having you.
