It is interesting to note that none of the great closers had enough career innings to be viable choices for this league. The guys in the Gossage / Fingers / Mike Marshall era all burned out after a few 150 IP seasons, while the guys now just don't pitch enough innings in a season to get anywhere near 1500. Hoyt Wilhelm was the only real reliever candidate, though Smoltz and Eck were possibilities due to their many years as starters.

I'm a little bit surprised that no one took Chipper Jones.  He has a decent season rated B+/D+ at SS, and a lot of really good offensive seasons.

I did think about Chipper but I wanted someone rated at catcher. I also wanted someone who could run, which ruled out my usual choice of Lou Boudreau.

Eck was my second or third choice. I was most concerned about his higher HR/9 rates. Outside of his most dominating 4 or 5 seasons, he gave up his share of gopherballs.

One owner has already suggested we take this to a second season and blacklist all the players from season one, so, you guys might wish to keep these ideas to yourselves!

Okay, I have finally figured out how to get all Ernie all the time on my roster, and set up the league.  The league # is MLB 92997.  Let's get those teams in and see what happens!

I found this out the hard way: if you enter your team, then back out (I decided to re-name the team), all your out of position guys default to the Util positions and you have to redraft them so it will accept your roster. I don't feel like doing that tonight. I'll be in tomorrow, hopefully.

5 more owners and I am ready to verify.
