It's become abundantly clear that since the major change in recruit generation made it much more difficult (note: not impossible) for low/mid DI teams to compete, most of those conferences have become ghost towns.
So the question is: What can be done to bring back more coaches to low/mid DI:
-Additional fix to recruit generation -- Simply finding a reasonable happy medium between the old system (where so many teams were loaded with 90+ ratings) and the new system (which has discouraged many coaches and chased them out of low/mid DI).
-Increasing NT money earned per victory for non-BCS schools (the hoosierchap/jbasnight suggestion, which I think is very interesting)
Curious to hear what other ideas people might have.
The big thing I've noticed is that in low/mid coaching, the boosters, prestige, and jobs are all messed up.
If a low D-1 team has a .500 season and finishes 2nd in their conference, it's ridiculous that their prestige drops and boosters become unhappy.
Coaches at these schools need more rewards for having a good run over 4-5 years, and increasing the prestige of the school over the duration of their stay.
IE i you go to a prestige D- school and raise that prestige to a B, you shouldn't have your job in jeopardy because of a couple .500 seasons in a row. That's unrealstic and ridiculous.
The other main thing is making the press and zone better. Everyone plays man, which makes D-1 entirely vanilla and people all recruit the exact same type of player.
The other things people have already mentioned, like balacing the recruits more in general.
