WIS - $2.95 means more than commissioners Topic

"Our previous policy did allow Sim League transfers but only when the team was paid for in full. However, there were some cases where it was not followed when it should have been."

The obvious question that just popped into my head as I re-read some of the above notes...Who's decision was it to not follow the previous policy? Was it the commissioner's, who asked for teams to be transferred? Or was it customer service, who was answering the tickets and then processing them?

So once the precedent is set, is it truly worth the sacrifice of customer perception and general feeling toward your company to then punish the customer's who were previously being granted something that was "against policy"?

This seems to go against best business practices. Profits are of course important, but sometimes a small profit now sacrifices a larger profit later. I'm certain that someone from management has by now read this thread, or will in the future. And my hope is that somebody with a combination of business savvy and customer service skills will read this and realize the consequences of such actions.
I'm sure they will get right on it........ with the same speed as that 2009 update we were promised.

Where before WIS let me transfer any team, now they won't let me transfer even a full-priced ($12.95) team.

They're telling me I have to buy a Gift Certificate, and I can use a credit card or Reward Points to buy it. I don't want to use my credit card, and I don't have enough Reward Points. I have $40 in credits on the site, though -- but for some reason I can't use that. And apparently I can't use those credits to buy Reward Points (although I can use Reward Points to buy credits).

Who's on First?!

I explained to them why I wanted to do this.  I wrote:

I'm not transferring these teams to make work for you, or to game the system in any way. I'm transferring them to keep alive a progressive league. We need to give new owners free teams to take over abandoned weak teams. These leagues will die if you make it harder for us. I'm really failing to see what's in it for you to throw obstacles in our path.

They responded by repeating that I would have to buy a Gift Certificate.

I will use my credit card, because I already promised the owner a free team.  But wow.

Latest response to my ticket.  Good to see WIS is rethinking this:

This is Admin jumping in now as this ticket has gotten confusing and frustrating for you I'm sure.

Earlier in the year when we introduced a new billing system, we reviewed a bunch of our policies and tightened them up so we can be more consistent in our approach and more transparent with our customers (backfiring here, of course).

Previously, we allowed users to transfer teams purchased with credits or teams from within a discounted multi-pack to other users. While many did this in the best spirit of the game (you included, obviously), others were taking advantage of this.

Our new policy introduced earlier in the year prevents seasons purchased with specific types of credit or individual seasons purchased from a discounted multi-pack from being distributed to other users at full value. Because of this ticket, we have reviewed and expanded the list of credits that are transferable to include reward credits earned from game play and reward point redemption credits.

We will also be making a few other adjustments on our end to improve customer support related to this topic.

We have added a $13 credit to your account to make up for the recent GC you purchased.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and we apologize for the related frustration.

I am too dense to follow this but if you are saying that WIS is charging league commish $3 to transfer teams to new owners, I think it is BS.  I am in Jimmy Carter progressive league that has been running for 25+ seasons and EVERY year 1-3 owners are dropping now and new ones come on board......usually by being enticed with a free team.  If not for that I would have never joined.

I am considering joining another progressive but if the site is now pulling this kind of BS, then perhaps I should just look for another way to waste my time.....
