With WE3 he will barely gain anything and probably lose it in the offseason. You said you had a mentor you need to ask about WE before your next recruiting. A lot of coaches have hard numbers they won't go below when it comes to most ratings. More experienced coaches know how to give and take on these numbers. Starting out the first 4-5 seasons I didn't know this and recruited several players with blue ratings everywhere and came to find out the player was a bust because of low WE. If you want my opinion I wouldn't recruit anyone under 30WE until you understand how the ratings grow and what cores you need for your system.
Just my 2cents.

John McClain has a WE of 3, until the world is coming to an end. Then it jumps to 99.

Will he ever jump?
No he won't.

I see you recruited a guy with a 3WE so clearly you know how to play.

Good luck.

The problem I have, is that you have all these experienced coaches (check their resumes) telling you how to improve and how the sim works and you're basically just replying with "Nope, you're wrong. I'm an amazing coach and it shows"...

News flash: I've beaten Strang and Swift1976. They are fantastic coaches... They were in rebuilding years, while I had seniors on the court. I squeaked out victories and felt good about myself. I swept conference play, because I play mostly crappy sim coaches, but the minute I get to the CT, I am a first round out 9x out of 10... I started asking for advice, followed it from these guys and INSTANTLY see a difference in how my team is playing...

Try getting more than 4 games under your belt, before you bad mouth these guys and pretend you're some kind of Vince Lombardi.... Keep in mind, they're being nice and trying to bring down your ridiculous expectations. I'm not being that nice. I'm saying you're kind of acting like a total tw*t and need to bring it down a notch or no one will help you. These guys are trying to help, and basically telling them to pound salt, is ridiculous.

"Nope, you're wrong. I'm an amazing coach and it shows"...

I never said that.... I have a mentor already if they want to help please feel free to contact me and I would consider your resume in helping me darnoc29099 is a division 3/2 expert I may change it back to fast pace to get to that score back to 80plus. But he recommended slow down so I may stick with it but less scoring if I do depends on the next few games really.

I'm not in your siuation, I am in a conference full of active coaches that doesn't apply to your situation at all. Please refrain from saying something bad to a new guy just because he is inexperience..

This type of statement makes me cringe.. "I'm not in your situation, I'm in a conference full of active coaches that doesn't apply to your situation at all. Please refrain from saying something bad to a new guy just because he is inexperience."

Please don't play the victim game, when I call you out for being a rude SOB to these coaches giving you advice. I'd be saying the same thing to someone who has 25 years experience, if they had the same responses that you have. I get it, you're 20 years old and you have an ego that hasn't quite learned how to look at the situation from an outside perspective, it'll get there. That's not mocking you out, or making fun of you, it's truth. Just an FYI, you've played 1 actual coach through the first 7 games, so you're quite literally in the SAME EXACT situation as I was, when I played my first season... Just wait until conference play, if you really are in a coach flooded conference, as you'll see what everyone is talking about.

Darnoc is a fantastic coach, there's no doubt, but he's not going to turn that team around in one year just by telling you to go to a slowdown offense. Especially when you think a WE 3 guy is the answer to all your problems. People are trying to explain mechanics to you. I'm new to this too, but I promise that from what I've learned from these same guys posting, that I've become a better player in just the past month. So listen to their advice, as much as possible.

With all of that, I will not be commenting further with you, because I don't wish to clutter the forums with nonsensical bickering back and forth. I hope you stick with HD, and learn more from guys like Darnoc, if you're willing to. This game has a huge learning curve and looks to have a great group of coaches, if you take the time to get to know them and such. Best of luck, and take care.

Just to add to this....

Here is the combined resume of the 10 coaches who have attempted to counsel CoachWard95 in this thread:

12121 wins, 5528 losses (.686 win %), 266 conference titles, 14 national titles.

But hey, CoachWard95 is 6-1, so he knows better than all of those coaches.

.857 win% > .686%

point in case.

But at least he is really excited for this game, usually don't see someone post that much unless it's me or people fighting(which can occasionally involve me)

overreaction here, IMO. the guy is new, hes excited, i don't think he's said anywhere hes a great coach or anything along those lines. trying to let him know hes about to get destroyed in conference, i mean, i see some value in it, but its not that big of a deal if he remains optimistic, and its not worth trying to beat it into him. reality will set it real soon, its inevitable... i think people are pushing him too hard to accept that in here, honestly. a couple of heads up posts, fine, he takes it or he doesn't. no need to go past there. its not like hes saying he thinks hes going to win the championship or anything!

i think its best to just stick to the basketball and let time deal with the expectations issue from here on out...

GL to you coachward.
