these are true stories - my friend felonius tells me so
Was that pre engine update? I know it was around that time but I have to assume that with these picks it was the old engine lol

2009? 2010?

1) 24kpyrite--- initially, I wasn’t real high on this team. No issues with the 1st 2 picks and I am a big fan of Kessler, but I am not sure he’s a good fit with him being 99 at PF. Myles Turner, Dej Murray, and Desmond Bane have both big pluses and big minuses. Beaubois was a wasted pick, but he was the last pick so doesn’t really matter. While many of the individual players on this team have their warts, the final totals/metrics turned out rather nice. Prediction: Playoff bound.

2) Copernicus---1st 3 picks were on point although I think I prefer Kessler over Holmgren. Not a fan of Danny Green, I think the $52 may be a little too big for him. This team seems to be a little too much boom or bust on the Defensive side of the ball to me. The players are either very high or very low Defensively. I don’t know that Da Green’s perimeter D is gonna be enough to hide Booker and Middleton’s lack of. Prediction: Just shy of playoffs.

3) Ncih----Marion is fine but I just don’t think he’s a 2nd rounder. Bam Adebayo is solid. I am unimpressed with the rest of this draft. This team is severely lacking on the defensive side and is going to struggle to make it out of the cellar.

4) Pbandj---I really like the combo of MJ and Gilmore. Wembanyama is a great 3rd round pick. Unfortunately, this draft went way downhill from here. Except for Paul Reed the remaining picks aren’t draftable (doesn’t mean they aren’t good, but they most likely would have gone undrafted if you hadn’t picked them). There’s way too much Usage on this team, especially when you have MJ and want him (and Gilmore) to be taking the bulk of the shots. Rebounding is low and towels are high. Not a good combo. This team is going to be battling to get out of the cellar as well.

5) Uptowngbv----I really liked the 1st 5 picks on this team. Giannis/PG3/Mutombo/Ibaka/Zion are a fantastic 1st 5 picks. But I just don’t get the Carlos Boozer pick. I think there are many other players who were available who coulda and shoulda been taken instead (my preference woulda been Andrew Bogut). And Tyreke Evans is great in certain spots but you didn’t need him. Also, I see you are using a different season for Paul George than what we normally see. I get it, I have trouble stomaching his lower efg% season too but it does have 90D, which I think you are going to miss. It seems to me that maybe you didn’t have time to think thru your 6th/7th round pick like you may have wanted to. I think this team will make the playoffs but its lower end 3 pt FGM and high Turnovers are going to be its downfall.

6) Jethroeg----at 1st glance the drafted players on this team seem fine. AD/Russell/Payton/Klay T./Tobias/VCarter/PauGasol. But the end result just didn’t come together as the efg% is well below 50%. I think the drafted players are fine but maybe they were drafted too early? I wouldn’t take Russell in the 2nd, Payton in the 3rd, Klay in the 4th or Tobias in the 5th of the $52. If you are going to insist on Russell, I think you are going to have to surround him with a lot more efficient scorers at SF and Guards than what you have. I am watching closely this season of Gary Payton you are using—I think you made a good choice here. Prediction: too much inefficiency to make the playoffs.

7) Steelers821---I like this squad a lot. I think the one downfall might be that you are putting too much weight on Okafor. I guess he’s a “poor man’s Derrick Favors”. It would be nice if his minutes were less and/or if his Defense was higher. It will be very interesting to see how he holds up. Also looks like you are really counting on Kemba Walker at PG. I have seen Jokic ‘s high Ast% have a big uptick effect on the PG’s efg % so hopefully Kemba/Butler will be the benefactor. This is a playoff bound team, but I think too much of this team’s success rests on Kemba and Okafor to win a chip.

8) Berkelon---1st 3 picks very solid especially Defensively in Robinson/Wade/Holiday. This is the kinda team that could sneak into the playoffs and upset somebody. I think I may have chosen a different season for Parish and this woulda been a good team for Tyreke Evans as he is a good backup for Wade.

9) Seapilots---Now here is an interesting team. Going against the grain by using Tracy McGrady at SG. Surrounded by a solid core of Haliburton/Gobert/Bobby Jones/Kyrie Irving I think McGrady will fare well. Not sure I like the 95 SF season of Bobby Jones in this spot. I think this is a fun team, that will contend for the playoffs but may come up short as I don’t think it has any Defensive stoppers on the perimeter and they will get exposed.

10) Dh555----this team is not bad but I guess I just expect a team with Chris Paul to wind up having more than just 2000 total assists especially when he alone gives you more than 800. I really like this team but the end statistical results just aren’t there. It’s low on 3 PM and steals and high on Fouls. It will be fighting for a playoff spot and may defy the stats.

11) Gerryred--- it’s interesting to me as I analyze these teams to see the de-emphasis on Defense, for the most part, that I am seeing across the board. This team has some good pieces---Shaq and Lillard are a great 1-2 punch. But I don’t think Kidd’s 82 D is enough to offset Dame’s lack of, and other than really Joakim Noah, this team is very porous on the defensive side of the ball. Playoff contender but ultimately D will be its Achilles heel.

12) Midge---I love SGA. Never used KAT so I am a little leery of his lack of D. Camby is great on D but not very efficient. I love Bogdan for the ODL, but the $52 is too big for him. I really like seeing Alvin Robertson get a run here. I think he’s like a “poor man’s Oscar Robertson” and think he will do well. While there are some weaknesses on this team, the end metrics look very good and lead me to believe this team is a certainty to make the playoffs.

13) Jackedjamie---KD and Ben Wallace are a great start. Robert Williams in the 3rd is too early for the $52 but then Vucevic who usually goes in the 3rd fell in your lap in the 4th. You can just tell this team was smartly crafted together. Probably came up a little short of ideal team efg% but this is a playoff bound team and possible chip contender.

14) Chewy3344---I have picked Luka this early b4 and gotten criticized but ended up doing just fine. What matters is who you surround him with, and I think Dr. J may be the perfect match. Favors is a solid pick. While this overall draft is very strong, it reminds me more of an ODL draft than a $52 Draft. Favors/D.Marshall/TJD/Zubac are all ODL stalwarts. I think you just picked solid players and knew that your post-draft team building expertise would kick in. I do think there are better choices than Morant—not a fan of his TO’s. Interesting choice of seasons for Dr. J. Looks like you decided to focus on rebounding and boy does this team have some rebounding. This is a playoff bound team.

15) Riftonapple---the 1st 4 rounds went as I expected. Probably reached in the 4th on Horford but with black holes of Howard and Capela in the middle I had to make sure that I got good assists at all other 3 positions. I have passed so many times in the 3rd on Valanciunas and regretted it. Now I pick him and probably isn’t the best fit, but we’ll see. I boxed myself in with my backcourt of McCollum and Jalen Williams that I had to get some elite perimeter D and good Ast% so I am rolling the dice on Kobe. I hope his low efg% doesn’t kill me. The 2 times I have won the $52, I felt like the draft just went my way, the right players just fell in my lap. I don’t feel this way this time. I felt like I got sniped a lot in the latter rounds and had a hard time building this team. I think this team can contend for a playoff spot but won’t contend for a chip.

Thanks for the eval-I wanted Jrue or Kyrie in the 3rd, after they went..i changed to Williams, with hopes that Vucevic, Jonas or even Jarrett Allen would fall.
I got the usage, but ya my overall efg isn't as high as I think it needs to be here in the 52. Also trying KD at SG at 99%(something I don't think I've done before for a starter)

thanks for doing these Rift! Yeah I mostly agree. I like Okafor, I really needed a guy who had good D, Blocks, and great rebounding and at that point in the draft I just couldn’t find anyone and he was the closest thing. Similar situation for Kemba although I think he’s actually perfect as a backup PG in this team. In the end I’ll likely be facing a lot of -1,-2 defenses and kemba should be balling out. Still overall this team probably just has a hole or two too many and I’ll win 45 games and lose in the first round.

Troy Murphy at 28?
I believe that at that time he had a 90 defense rating. Defensive rebounding affected the defense rating.
He was also 100% at SF.

one quibble: it goes Lebron 90, Green 88, Khris 42, Walton 93, Tree 100 - Khris can play 100% PG-->SF so I am hoping to be able to hide him

It just might work! rob just won ODL with Middleton and Bane I think

I think there will be something like 15 minutes of Booker and Middleton on the floor together where either Bron or Green will have to play wack-a-mole? who knows I never do too well in the 52 anymore anyway

Same, hoss. I haven't fallen in sufficient love with the current batch of recent efficiency overlords.

I knew about the 90 D, but I didn’t know about the 100% at SF. No wonder he was getting drafted so high.
