Anthony,

The player in question was signed to a 4 year, $6.75M contract in season 4.

Yes, I know, that's what I was complaining about. I never negotiated with him. I only negotiated with pitchers on the ml level, so
why was I magically awarded a guy I didn't bid on wirh a big contract?

Anthony,

The database indicates that you submitted the offer to this player.

There is no need to respond to the this ticket anymore, any future submissions regarding this topic will automatically be closed.

There really was nowhere to go after this.  CS said "He was offered a contract by you."   Doomey said "No, I did not make him an offer!!!"   What's the next step?  Say "OK, we'll check into further?" even if they have no further?

They could say what I already said:  "we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.  Our data indicated that you made an offer, but we will certainly keep a lookout for similar situations."

Thir way is basically asserting that doomey is either stupid or a liar.  Maybe he is, but why wouldn't customer service take two seconds to appease their customer who is only trying to alert them to what he believes is a problem?

"Ok, I was right there because you tried to insult my punctuation and education background while not being able to spell that word correct."

The final word should be "correctly."

As a rule, people shouldn't comment on another's grammar/spelling without properly addressing their own.

Anyway, I see both sides.  Doomey's post was confusing, but understandable.  CS was being its usual, dismissive self.

As a rule, people should not  comment on another person's post when it has nothing to do with them.
You realize that would effectively end message boards, right?

Not to mention, you did the exact same thing with your first post.
Do you really want to keep this going? Your attempt to out wit me is not really working.. It's not changing my opinion and it's not making me feel bad for what I have said or will say in the future.

CS didn't do anything wrong, they responded to doomey the only way they could have given the circumstances. If you do not want me to change something and you have no problem what do you want me to say? Especially after the tools available to me shows you signed the player...

Had he said "OH NO!! MY ACCOUNT HAS BEEN HACKED!!" they may have jumped to check into it further. The fact that he's simply stating he didn't sign a guy could just be  a sign of him signing the guy and realizing he didn't want the guy afterwards.

I don't care if you keep this going.  I also don't care if you feel bad.  Merely pointing out the irony in a grammatically-flawed post, the subject of which was correcting grammar.

Sure, could be.  Probably is.  But that doesn't mean that's the only explanation.

Just say "thanks for the heads up," and close it down.  I just don't know why it's so hard to be even minimally cordial, but whatever, we've both made our points.

I find "Thanks for the ticket.  We go over these issues periodically and this will be addressed" to be VERY annoying.   I'd rather they say "Dumb idea.  Quit bothering us" so I'd at least know they really aren't going to ever check into what I asked.
3/9/2011 5:53 PM
Except that's not what I said.  I agree, because that's a blatant lie.  I don't like being lied to, either.
3/9/2011 6:00 PM
The whole point is that they are basically calling doomey a liar (or stupid).

How about this: "We understand your situation, but the information we have shows that you offered him a contract.  We'll keep an eye out other situations like this, but as of right now, there is nothing more we can do."

It isn't saying they will do something.  It isn't saying, "hey idiot, you're a liar."  I guess my point is, we're paying them for this.  They could be just a little less rude about it.
3/9/2011 6:23 PM
I don't see that.  I see "This is what we're seeing and, since you're not asking for any action, I think we're done here."

Otherwise, it's just a "Did too", "Did not", "Did too", etc, etc, exchange.
3/9/2011 7:09 PM
OK, fair enough.

Although it's not a "did /did not" situation with my suggested response.

I bet he was using an iphone.  I've heard those don't get along with HBD, and transactions will go haywire.
3/9/2011 9:37 PM
I believe if this cause is SO important for some people then maybe THEY should just protest and run around their house with signs stating they are boycotting HBD because CS didn't do what they wanted in which they really didn't want anything to start off with.

Dramatic much?
