Of course if you asked the people under Reagan and Bush you would think that they were great. Reagan oversaw the largest peace time expansion of the economy in history and Bush kept everything going after 9/11.

In contrast people under Carter were miserable. Inflation was out of control and unemployment was higher than it is now.

And we know what piople think of living under Obama.
On what do you base your statement about economic expansion under Reagan?

Well of course, the Heritage Foundation! They can be counted on not to have a bias!

Seriously...I cant use the Heritage Foundation as a source?? Really? The Heritage Foundation!!

So for you to consider it valid I can only cite Moveon.org and Mother earth news??

Regardless of what one thinks of the source, what it says is that Reagan presided over the longest sustained peacetime expansion, not the largest. Which is a mere technicality to your point, I suppose, but still. The largest expansion occurred under FDR.

OK I did phrase it wrong. The issue is things were good.

Hard to call that one of the worst presidents just because he was from the wrong party.

I would never put FDR on a worst president list, even though he made mistakes. Maybe Obama.

1 Trivia question...Were there more casualties among the Japanese during the first 3 days at Tarawa or Among Ameircan troops in 8 years in Iraq? The point being we ran a smart and successful war their.

2 Clinton did great things with the economy. He had no real problems and a huge peace dividend. Bush had the war and the aftermath of 9/11.

BUSH CHOSE TO GO TO WAR IN EYERAK
11/2/2011 5:15 AM
He was the President and the final decision was his. The evidence was clearly supporting his view that Iraq posed a threat.

Peggy, you realize you are the only human being on earth that can still justify that war? Of course I exaggerate but not much!

Actually you exaggerate a lot.

The popularity of the war is still going down. That means that the revisionist history that the left is pushing about Bush is doing its job!

The war made a difference.

The Arab spring never happens without it. America doesnt go for 10 years without a major terrorist attack without it. Saddam and Bin Laden and Qadaffi dont die without it.

That war may have been the best supported war when it started.  Anyone who pretends it wasn't is lying.   After 9/11, America wanted blood.   Didn't matter whose blood as long as they wore turbans.    As it progressesed, like all wars, it became less popular because soldiers died just like in every other war.

Died, but at a much slower rate. This was a very sanatized war.

Code Pink needed it to be the worst war ever, but in reality it is the least bloody war we ever fought in.
11/4/2011 8:05 PM
It's nice of you to be so cavalier about 4000+ soldiers dying in a war that has nothing to do with protecting our freedoms.
11/4/2011 10:09 PM
It had everything to do with protecting us. We didnt have another domestic terror attack since 9/11.

It isnt an issue of being cavalier. It is just a matter of math. We fought a brutal war for 8 years and took 4000 casulaties. I say thats earns a medal.
