1. If you want to go to the Sweet 16, you need 50 ATH/DE at DIII, 55 ATH/DE at DII, and 65 ATH/DE at DI AT THE WORST. If you want to make it consistently, add 5.
2. Incredible Ath and average-good LP goes a long *** way toward a good scorer.
3. High PER/BH/PA guys excel of the bench.
4. One of the best ways to have a good team every year is everyone can play great DE, and each player also excels at one of Offense, Distributing, or Rebouding.
5. The factor of surprise is your number one friend at DII and DIII.
6. Low Post in slashing guards is super-helpful.
1. It isn't an absolute but it helps. Good coaches don't need it.
2. ATH/LP are a scoring combo. Both (along with BH) are used in one of the two primary scoring equations. In a vacuum. I am not sure who is better a 30 ATH 90 LP or a 90 ATH 30 LP.....I suspect the former.
3. Um, they also excel in the starting lineup. I like to bring the high SPD/PER low DE guys off the bench.
4. I think that is sound plan.
5. A good team is your #1 friend, being hard to prepare for is also helpful though. I know I have a hard time planning against teams that use different lineups.
6. LP is helpful, you don't even need that much (20?) if you have a high ATH. I think it's because the ATH/LP equation is opposed by a defensive formula that includes block which most guards don't have.
