@ Josh, sorry I didn't see your question earlier. I can't speak for anyone else as to why interest died out. I hope it didn't die out totally as I want to play Season 5 and host Season 6. Perhaps some people had other obligations that were mutually exclusive to anything on this site. I found it strange that Dub didn't play the final round or even pick a team, given that he was playing Live games every day in the past few days.
I deserve to win because I did research for every round, including lineup, starting pitching, bench, bullpen, and real-life overall winning record. I am sure Tom managed well, and I am not taking anything away from him, but I believe overall I managed better. He even admitted to me he shouldn't have taken the 1987 Twins in the final 5 due to their sorry pen. Obviously, some choices were easier than others. My overall season record was 23-11 and I played the game right. I didn't lie and I didn't backstab anyone (not saying Tom did either), not that there was anyone left to backstab as interest waned. Of course, some of it is luck, good and bad for all of us. We all lost games we shouldn't have but I think my record of upsets and comeback wins, including two by the 2005 Astros over the 2004 Red Sox in a sweep, and the 7-6 comeback win by the 1998 Yankees also over the 2004 Red Sox, with a combination of long-ball and small-ball (bottom 9th had 2 solo HRs and then a walk, a pinch-run SB, and a walkoff hit) shows my versatility as manager from start to finish.
