The point is that zhawks has no idea if it could have a significant effect. All we know is that is might have an effect, and no one has any idea how significant that effect is. Zhawks answered the question as a fact, but I have no reason to believe, expecially in light of CS's response, that he is right.

The fact that he is standing by it as being the right answer when none of us have any idea is the frustrating part.

I'll take my many many many seasons of studying recruiting over an auto response from CS every day of the week.

That isn't even close to what I'm saying...you need to go read the other thread really. Its your opponents' OTRs that matter for SOS purposes...not your own...

The best team is the team that wins. You can really say that 1985 Villanova was better than 1985 Georgetown? In college football 1997 or 1998 Temple was better than 1997 or 1998 Virginia Tech? Not a chance. The BEST TEAMS DON'T ALWAYS WIN...not hard to understand. Now if you want to solve the equation as to WHY a coach consistently has 750 rated teams and smokes 800 rated teams, then you might have an audience. That doesn't even sound like a ranking question...you know what my answer is to that question from a ranking standpoint...who cares, it happens.

CS is also the same people who said you can double team with the press. If you want to take there word on ANYTHING, go for it. Only reason I like to read what CS is so I know what is right/wrong and generally what they say is right tends to be wrong.

Isn't this similar to the debate we are having for a NCAA football playoff? No one wants a computer to determine who plays for the championship. Let them settle it on the field. Of course the best team doesn't always win in a single game, but at least it is determined by players actually playing the game. I don't recall Georgetown receiving a trophy back in 1985 as the 'best team'.

In real life, I don't do post tournament college basketball rankings...I don't see the point...the goal is to get the 64 highest ranked conference champions and at-large teams into the tournament.

You know what, z, I agree. You are incredibly successful and I'll bet you know more about this game than anyone who works for CS. Also, I'm sure you have a good feeling for what is happening/supposed to happen. That still doesn't mean that you are right about it.

There is nothing to say CS is Admin/seble. I might be wrong, but it would appear they have multiple people answering those tickets.

Double team in a press - just for you furry.
12/29/2009 2:19 PM
That would be what I was talking about. More times then not CS has been wrong when it comes to things that happen when you actually play the game. I honestly think the people who answer don't even have experience in the game and would not be surprised if they were wrong in that ticket as well.

Sometimes you have to push very very hard to even get close to a solid answer, it has gotten a lot better then it was in the past... but it still does happen.

As in, Durability 'might' help you at some point, but trust the veterans when we say Durability 'won't' significantly help you.
Okay, you could be right.

I take that more as "we don't really know what kind of effect it will have."

It doesn't really matter, I suppose. What it really comes down to is that some vets are touchy because they think they deserve automatic respect of the forums and some new coaches don't give any gratitude when they should. My point all along is that is goes both ways.
12/29/2009 3:26 PM
I agree that it goes both ways. But when the same questions are answered, every week for 2-3 years, a vet will get shorter and shorter with their responses and tolerances. I do believe that has played a role in many vets leaving the forums for different periods of times.
