Lol, your the one posting here too. Were just lucky enough not to have to bust our butt 24/7 to get by in life. Although I do know Kansas grads do have to do that after getting there manager position at McDonald's, haha.

Biggest drawback - 96 team field does not fit on a single sheet paper bracket.

I would also argue to give the top 32 conference winners ONLY the first round bye. That would make the opening weekend a little more exciting.

How so? They are a #5 seed, it is not like they are making this run as a #12 seed. They were expected to at least make the sweet 16.

what is the farthest any seed #12 or below has gone in the tournament ever? (edit - I actually have not found anyone below #12 making the elite 8 as of yet, so sweet 16?)

what is the lowest seed to make the final four? #11 has done it twice (LSU and Geroge Mason)

what is the lowest seed to ever WIN the championship? #8 Villanova

So to me it seems we actually have too many teams already in the tournament!

This is a tournament about finding a CHAMPION, not a lets let as many teams as we can fit in type of tournament. When teams BELOW #8 seeds start advancing to the finals, THEN add more teams

Technically a 5 seed would be expected to lose in the 2nd round to the 4 seed. Im sure when I continue reading this thread, I'll find that someone else has pointed this out.

You are the one crying about them "ruining march madness" and telling people to shut-up. However, I did not know that you were also Gay. I thought that was illegal in Kansas, btw. Other than that, I have to busy working to post until now. The irony.

yeah, emy Im shocked no one else pointed that out.

This should be good for mid-majors. More tournament money = more money dispersed amongst the schools, which will only help the smaller schools and the non-revenue producing sports.

Missouri went to the elite 8 as a 12 seed in 2002.

Your just an old man who doesnt understand social cues and spends the rest of his miserable life talking on forums because you have no social skills. Reading your replies on this thread has made me realize how stupid wis really is and how people that particapate in it really have no lifes.

I am glad more people are realizing that expansion might not be terrible (when I posted in a different thread about this topic a lot of people were anti-expansion). It may be easy to say that it will ruin it at this time because it is change and in the beginning it may be difficult (Just like J-Hud singing 'one shining moment'). Really try to think about the components that are involved with the expansion and not just buy into ESPN's blogs about expansion being bad.

The first day of the tournament has always been a holiday for me (I'm ignoring the Tuesday play-in game). In high school, I faked being sick, in college I cut class and the last ten years I always schedule days off on that special Thursday/Friday. This year's opening day was great, a 3, a 4 and a couple 6s all went down and it set the stage for a great, wide-open tournament. If there was expansion, none of these teams would even play in the first round. To me, it's exciting when a top seed goes down and brackets get busted a couple hours into the tournament. I don't think it's the end of the world, but I'll be less interested if they expand, watching 9-24 seeds play just isn't as interesting to me and I doubt I'll watch the round of 64 games with the same intensity I do now.
