He isn't a .263.336.379 hitter unless you strictly platoon him. He's a nice vL option for around 2mil. Nothing more than that.

Starting Lineup

C  Sal Green - I am ok with Green as my catcher - not looking to upgrade unless something drops in my lap.
1B David Gomez - he may end up in RF. I like him here because I have found players like him get a significant # of plus plays at 1b.
2B  Dustin Carter - this is the only spot that I curently am significantly below par defensively. I have some pending free agent moves that will address this.
3B Fritz Washington - went unclaimed. He's an average 3b. Id like to upgrade this spot defensively and move him to the outfield if I can.
SS Jimmy Gragg - as stated before, he'll be a decent SS, but I still want to upgrade. That would result in a few position tweeks.
LF Patrick Ojeda - serviceable here - still looking for an offensive upgrade
CF Humberto Seanez - plugged him in here by default - I still need a real centerfielder. Would rather have Seanez at 2nd or 3rd.
RF Ozzie Nelson - he's here just for his power. Im hiding him in RF because of his defense. I may put him at 1B and Gomez in RF.

I think I really need to make 2 or 3 more moves to be comfortable with my lineup.

I need one or 2 really good power bats - a 1B/LF/RF type. If I just get one, he will replace Nelson, if I can add 2, Nelson and Ojeda will drop out of the lineup.
I need another SS/CF so I can push Seanez out of CF and to 2nd base.

3B Fritz Washington - He's been better at 3b than I initially gave him credit for. I'm fine with him at 3b.

Like most people, you are undervaluing the value of defense.

Additionally, this signing allowed me to improve my defense at 3 positions. SS, 2B, and CF.

Anything he gives me offensively is a bonus. You also are neglecting his base stealing ability.

Well, you were an idiot for releasing him. At least 2 owners felt a gold glove 100 speed shortstop had some value. Now, he may be more valuable on my project of a team than on yours. You came in and claimed this as one of the worst signings in the history of HBD--and claimed he is only a platoon player. I claim that his defense and baserunning outweigh his offensive weaknesses.

Booger, I actually wouldnt be surprised if I ended up with a better recrod than you this season. By trying to save a few bucks you lost your best defensive player. And you've made no moves this offseason.

We'll see. 

I suppose when you have a $25M player payroll budget, $5 Mil + Bonus would seem like alot.

Actually I'm quite certain I'll be better than you this season, now that your plan to tank is so obvious. $16 Million payroll and dumping salary at the same time. Impressive.

My last free agent signed.

SP Hector Romano. He's 34 years old but hasnt started to decline yet. Signed him to a 3 year deal--the last year is a mutual option. He has a 91 GB/FB decent splits and very good first two pitches. With my defense, I think he will be decent.

season started Sunday PM2. 2-3 so far. I typically wait 20 games before making any real assesments. More or less getting what I have expected. Hitting has been better than what it will end up at, pitching a bit worse.

Shouldn't you also post booger's record?

Update:

The team is trending to about where I expected. Hitting below normal. Pitching has improved--helped by my stellar defense. Top fielding pct in league, and tied for the best +/- ratio. Only made 1 more negative play since making a switch in RF.
