Round 16 is complete, this is almost boring now! :) I'm surprised we aren't having at least one match per round. . . .lots and lots of middle talent to choose from I guess.
Ready for 17.1
Hope it's ok if I chime in with my $0.02 here.
Despite absolutely loving this concept and having more fun in v1 of this league than I have in any draft for quite a while, this is why I didn't rejoin for this season (though, as you can tell, I am following along). The most fun part is watching the collisions happen (even when they happen to you!), but the bigger the blacklist, the less likely collisions are to occur, which makes this draft less unique that it otherwise would be.
ozo, no problem at all, always appreciate your thoughts here.
I've "only" been doing this for a couple years now, but one of the things I have learned about WIS and think is cool is how each owner here is motivated and energized by completely different styles of themes. Some love drafts, some progressives, some high caps, some low caps, etc. The cool part is you can usually find at least 23 others who share your crazy passion! Unfortunately for my bank account, I seem to love all kinds of different styles. :(
I agree this draft doesn't have the same excitement level as far as waiting to see who got selected because the slightly-above-average talent pool is so large, but for me it's more about being forced to decide which slightly-above-average talent will perform best. So far we have 20 players blacklisted due to collisions through 17 rounds, so that at least validates doing this as an auction as opposed to a straight draft. It's a lot of work though so a third iteration is unlikely. :)
