@barracuda
Owners had a lot of time to research thoroughly and build their rosters which helps a lot of the newer owners like myself (3rd WISC) .... I had 3 versions for most of the leagues just cuz I had the time
I hear you, but I feel like that has usually been the case. I built many versions of most of my teams as well. Apparently, either they were all bad or I chose to submit the wrong versions.

Sometimes having too much time can also play against you (overthinking it)

My first Schwarze in the am session... with my weak 80M team I didn't think it was going to be possible.... helped me jump into R2 contention

Is there anyone else who would be willing to take on the recurring update of the standings spreadsheet? Now that it is built out, it is a pretty simple exercise for anyone who is proficient in Excel.

I have effectively been eliminated from contention in the last 24 hours, and my work has stacked up lately. I need to pivot, if someone can take this on. DM me if you're interested.

Up 10-0 after the 1st inning in my $80M league, and I lose 17-16. Sheesh.

Back-to back schwarzes in the pm2 and the am cycles. Hooray!

A late rally gets me to 86 wins in the third 27 following 97 and 91. Gotta turn the trend around. But all teams are at 43-49 wins, which is nothing to complain about.

The $20M per team minimum forced me to add 1972 Steve Carlton to my $110M team, since I wanted a bunch of relievers from that Phillies era. He is off the one of the worst starts I have ever had from a starting pitcher.

2 starts
3.0 innings
18 hits!
2 walks
3 homeruns allowed
.667 OAV
6.67 WHIP (I have never seen a 6.67 WHIP)
48.00 ERA

And it wasn't just one bad start. He gave up 8 ER in both with 8 / 10 hits. He is going to pitch like 400 innings for this team. NOT GOOD.

I tried to use the '72 Carlton on one of my invalid entries at $110m... he's one of my favorites to use (i have a thread in the main forum somewhere showing insane use cases I've gotten out of him). That was one of my few disappointing changes I made working towards compliance.

Edit:

Here's those two uses:
1972 Steve Carlton:
Date Opponent % IP BFP PC W L SV R ER H HR SO BB WP ERA OAV WHIP Box
Season Totals -- 471.1 1942 6648 26 23 0 181 164 405 34 323 134 3 3.13 .224 1.14 --

1972 Steve Carlton
Date Opponent % IP BFP PC W L SV R ER H HR SO BB WP ERA OAV WHIP Box
Season Totals -- 459.2 1950 6567 24 21 0 199 161 432 29 246 138 4 3.15 .238 1.24 --
Carlton at the AS Break - Pretty much lights out after the horrible start:
Player SN T G GS CG SHO W L SV SVO IP H R ER HR BB SO OAV OBP SLG WHIP ERA
Carlton, Steve 1972 L 27 24 5 1 9 12 0 0 186.0 170 90 86 19 57 136 .236 .296 .350 1.22 4.16

Just snuck into the top 20 in qualified WHIP after his last start.

In the $100m league, I drafted 95 total home runs to play in Polo Grounds with -1/-1 HR effects. Through 84 games, we've hit 70 home runs.

In the $125m league, I drafted 315 total home runs to play in Great American with +2/+2 HR effects. Through 84 games, we've hit 96 home runs.

Though my $125m team has a better home record than road, we've hit only 44 HR at home, versus 52 on the road. Ken Williams is slashing .237./.250/.360 with 2 HR at home, and .323/.344/.677 with 13 HR away.

My hope in the $125m league was to outhomer the opposition, and I guess we are, slightly (league average is 57). But this strategy was a dud. Maybe the rules of the $100m league led to more pitchers with higher HR/9 numbers, but I didn't think hitting for power at the $125m cap would be quite this difficult.
