2012 - Doomsday Tournament: What's On Your Mind? Topic

Juice, is there any chance you can post who's in what league. I want to start researching for the next round but I'd feel bad doing it knowing the at large clubs can't yet

How many teams that are advancing were the last team entered in their division? I got in late with two teams and one of them is in as a wildcard. Brown and the Reds, in League 2, was the last team available in that division. Only missed winning the division by two games. I just wonder how many others got the last team available and still made it to the next round.

I got two out of six in but i picked the last team in 5 out of the six including these two.

REDSOX666666, I've just about finished the draft orders for all twenty leagues.  (I'm either really committed to this tournament or I need to be committed - one of the two).  I'm going to try and post it later tonight or tomorrow at the latest.

Thanks a lot juice!

I have two teams in League 2.  If I pick AL for the first does the second have to be NL?

Yeah, we're gonna go that route - I'll put that out in a mass sitemail to everyone.  For those who have three or more teams in a league, just split them up as best as you can.

Pretty cool - the original thread in the Theme League Classifieds just went over 17,000 views!

Juice,

I think what you might need to do in each of the draft league forums is to list the number of selected NL/AL combos and the # of available combos remaining in each of the leagues (since they have to be equally paired).  This will prevent accidental selection of say 8 NL Pitching followed by another 5 NL Hitting which can't be allowed under the present drafting restrictions.

You'll also need to address instances where some people like myself have multiple teams in the same league (i.e. 2 in the NL or AL) and if that is allowed or not due to the same pairing restriction above.

Already taken care of.

Here's a great "what goes around, comes around" story for ya...

(1) I was fortunate enough to have nine teams advance to the post season in Round 1 (9 out of 23).  With my track record, I'll take that any day.

(2) Of those 9 teams, EIGHT of them won the Division Series and moved on to the LCS.  I've never had that kind of good luck before in the post season.  I was flying high!

(3) Of the 8 teams in the LCS, SEVEN of them lost.  Now I've only got one team moving on to the World Series.

Sometimes, life (and WIS) sucks...

I have 10 teams out of 24 going to round 2 what about everybody else
12/25/2011 8:34 AM
I only got 4 of 13 into round 2. Just missed with a 5th, as it also had 84 wins but missed the tiebreaker somehow.

I have 7 out of 12 moving on to round 2. 5 were playoff teams (2 in the finals), 1 was best record without getting in the playoffs, and 1 was an 85 win team that got in as an "at large" team
